Question about Compaq Deskpro EP PIII-650MHz/ 128MB/ 10GB/CDROM/ FDD/ ENET/ Keyboard/ Mouse/ WIN98COA/ No OS - (CODEEPPI1210) PC Desktop

1 Answer

Both of my CD/DVD Drives in my computer are not working correctly. My computer recognises them but when i go into my computer only my floppy drive comes up under devices. when i went into device manager, a small yellow caution sign is displayed and the message displayed is 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)'. whenever i disable and enable or uninstall and reinstall the drive the same thing happens. because of this i can't listen to music, play dvds or install the new printer i have purchased. On top of all that my computer will not shut down at all. whenever i press shutdown the screen appears with the words 'Shutting Down...' and remains like that for hours. Please help!

Am trying to reistall Win XP. Have run Fdisk and reformatted HDD. PC will not recognise install CD, keeps coming up with errors, does not find CD or HDD. Hav also tried running setup from floppy, again...

IF the hard drive is a SATA hard drive, you will first of all need to download the SATA drivers for te motherboard and copy them to a Floppy drive on another computer if yours will not work, this may also affect why it is not "seeing" the Cd drive if this is a SATA one too

Try installing Windows and when the message " press F6 if you want to ...." appears, have the floppy inserted in teh floppy drive so it can find thr SATA drivers, it will then recognise the Hard drive and install

If you have further problems please repost

Solutions for exception Processing Message c0000a3 parameters 75b6bf7c 4...

Many of you might have faced issue called windows – drive not ready and a message ” exception Processing Message c0000a3 parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c” right below of that. It will keep disturb you every now and then even if you close this number of times This normally happens when you remove a drive like Floppy drive, CD Drive or Pen drives from its working conditions without proper instructions. You will get this error message when you remove a CD/DVD from CD/DVD drive during a process happening form CD/DVD like installing software or accessing files etc.

In that situations the programs seeking the files from the drives but its not finding there. So we are getting this error.

You can see the error below.

Here is the steps to solve the issue:

a) Simply put a CD/DVD in to the CD/DVD drive and click on Continue.

b) Open the CPU box and make sure all the data cables connected properly.Like data cable for Floppy drive and CD/DVD Drives.

c) Go to BIOS and disable the Drives which you are not using. Nowadays mostly nobody uses Floppy drive. So you can disable Floppy drive. You can disable unused IDE or SATA ports in bios.Save the settings and restart your PC, Now you will not get the annoying pop ups now.

4600c not operating system error message bootmanager missing

You might have to go to the BIOS of your computer to ensure your drive is recognised. Once it shows there, make sure you change the Drive as your first boot device.

It takes @least 30 minutes to boot

It sounds like your computer is not recognising the hard drive. Go into the bios (keep pressing the delete key as your computer starts up ) and find 'hard drive auto select' and press enter to see if your computer can recognise the hard drive. Even if this works it sounds like your hard drive is on the way out.
1/ Make sure no floppy or CD in drives
2/ Check Hard Drive cable connections, both ends
3/ Go into BIOS and check drive is recognised in there

IDE Drive not found on startup

I am assuming that the cd and DVD drives are on the Ide right ?? thats because one of the drives jumper is set wrong. If you take a look at the back you will find it saying master / slave / Cable select with eighter a 6 to 10 pins. basically one needs to be set to master and connected with the top piece of the cable and the other set to slave and connected with the middle of the cable. and the other jacks into the main board. If i misunderstood you please respond correcting me as soon as possible so i can be of further help.

Dvd/cd drives

Looks as though you have lost or corrupted the drivers. Assuming you are on XP (?) try restoring your computer to an earlier date.

CD and DVD Drives Not Working

Have you recently installed a new Hard disk or a New CD. If so open cover of the PC and check that the cables are connected correctly and that the red strip on the data cable is nearest to the power cable. Also make sure that the jumper settings are correct if they are connected to the same IDE port (Cable) then there should be one that is a master and one that is a slave.

Please try these

Hope this is some sort of help
