LG Model# DLEX2801R. when i start a drying cycle, i hear a loud humming sound for a few seconds and then nothing (the cycle does not start). Tried unplugging, no success.

Sounds like the capacitor on the motor is bad,

If the noise bothers you, replace IM. If not keep using it until it fails.

That loud hum is an indication that the Magnetron is shorted.

My solution to this problem was to simply unplug the power from the wall for a few seconds...plug back in, try to cycle again and the wash cycle starts fine now. May have been caught in a cycle loop or something. Any way this solution worked for me hope it works for someone else.

Have someone turn the key on (engine off) pull gas cap and listen at the fuel tank filler tube for a humming sound for a few seconds fuel pump running,If you don't hear a humming noise check fuel pump fuses,if you hear pump running it is a good possibilty that the pump impeller broke from running dry and you will have to replace fuel pump.

check to make sure nor of you vaccum line is not loose and all your clamps are tighten sound line a line is off the system and your intake is not tighten properly

Your color wheel needs to be changed. Mine just did the same thing. I changed mine, and the buzzing sound went away, however now my picture washes out with light or yellow colors. The darks look green and purple also.

quite possibly the drain pump which would cause it to stick in rinse cycle. the humming noise you heard is probably the drain pump powered up but jammed. likely cause is a foreign object stuck in the pump impellor - main culprit is bits of bra wire. take the pump to pieces and extract whatever is jamming it.

Puppa, clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault. Catriver...post back
