Thanks,
I hv tried to charge it from the outlet via the same cord which is supplied with the player & even with the laptop, but the battery is getting hot as it during the charging but the player doesn't start.
Before the problem occured the battery had a quite good battery life. so I don't think that battery has got suddenly problem.

Do you charge it from an outlet of via usb cord? If from an outlet, the charger just might not work anymore, but the usb cord that you use to put media on the mp3 player will charge it also.

Why will my samsung yp-z3 not switch on?

Sometimes if the battery is discharged extremely it takes 10 to 30 minutes to charge up to a level at which the device can start up. In worst cases the battery can become dead in such a way that it can never be charged up any more. A general thumb rule I suggest you to follow, is: try not to keep li-ion batteries fully discharged for long time as this eventually kills them.

Computers provide low charging amperage, if you can connect your player to a wall socket usb adaptor if you have one. It may charge and turn on faster.

the recharge time on a fully discharged battery is 6 to 10x the discharge time. so, if that battery was good for 2 hours, the recharge could take 12 to 20 hours..sit back and see how it goes.

The battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.
Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Hi, I have a Samsung R1 mp3 player. The battery had completely run out so I put it on charge and it starts up with the samsung screen then it goes onto the R1 on the screen but it freezes after that! I...

Some batteries never recover from an over discharge condition. When you connect it for charging it will show recharging indication but won't soak up any charge. Only way out is to replace the battery especially if its more than 2 year old when you over discharged it.Over discharging is when your battery voltage drops below 30% of its full voltage.

I bought Transcend MP860 last month. when i start charging thru PC it shows the message charging error insufficient voltage. When I finish charging it fully until it displays the message and start playing...

This is a common problem with these players (first link). My MP860 failed in this way (insufficient voltage etc message)
I made a rig with laboratory PSU (several amp output) connected to USB socket and I know that that the problem has nothing to do with voltage (voltage was stable 5V - tested also higher up to 5.5V)
For a while a trick with holding the volume up button worked for me. (see second link) But once I discharged the battery to a too low level and the trick did not work anymore.
My conclusion is that that message indicates Li-ion battery degradation and charger circuit/FW declines to charge it showing misleading message. (battery made by Foxlink)
I tore my the player open and rigged charge circuit and get it working again. Photo: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5063/5683361395_d59bef8142_b.jpg
Few suggestions: 1. Never allow the battery to be fully discharged. Charge at any opportunity you have. 2. Once you get the Insufficient input voltage message try trick with holding volume adjustment. 3. If 1., 2. failed rip it open and make charging circuit or replace battery. 4. Do not buy Transcend MP3 players. (?)

My v-touch got wet and my batterie takes time to charge but when its all charged and i take off the charger it discharges again

If the battery got wet, that could be your problem. I would suggest you get a new battery and try that. I know that my daughters cell phone went in the drink and the phone was fine, but the battery was toasted.

I hope this helps you.

When charged V2 does'nt hold charge for long.

Hi.
Most likely this kind of problems occurs when the battery is exhausted after a long time of using it.
because even intergrated (rechargeable) Batteries Wont Last forever. the chemical substances(lithium-ion) in it Drains after a period of charging/discharging(using the device).

Solution:

if you have a common Mp3 player, You can purchase a new fresh battery and replace it. its quick and easy.

i can instruct you if you want so.
First check ebay for the exact same battery that you have inside you Mp3 Player.
