My fan only runs sometimes

The fan is controlled by the door switch. If the unit is turned to the heating position the door switch turns on the fan, then a centrifugal switch in the fan motor provides power to the heating controls.

I have a GE microwave and just ran the self cleaning option on my gas range. During the cleaning process the microwave fan turned on low and now that the range is finished cleaning the fan will not shut...

The fan has a safety thermostat which turns the fan on if the area under the microwave get too hot. It turns off after it has cooled, providing you have not manually switched the fan on.

Fan not coming on in fan oven Second (smaller)

fan motors seized or slow. Turn ovens on with the doors open and switch them on individually, you should see the fans turn behind rear panels, if not see if elements redden up as test if not they may be faulty also.

Kenmore over the stove microwave, model # 721.62629200,only low speed fan works on the keypad,no high speed fan.

The fan has a setting for high speed, low, and off. Fan only running at low speed. This indicates problem towards. 1) the fan motor. 2) The loose fan wiring. 3) The fan switch. IN the unit there is a motor for fan.If the motor gets weak or short. The fan will run but only at low speed.Because at high speed the motor will require more power to run.In this case motor needs to be checked and replaced. The other possibility is the fan wiring. There are two wires going from fan to motor and two going from motor to power board. If any of this wire is got loose or getting short then this will stop the fan to run in high speed. In this case the wires needs to be checked and reconnected properly. In the unit there is a switch internally. When you select the fan to high speed mode the switch goes up. when you select the fan to low speed mode the switch turns down. But if the switch is faulty or got worn out. Then it will not move properly up/down.In this case switch needs to be replaced.IN some brand models the High speed and low speed are directly controlled from front control panel. There is no switch in that models. In that case the control panel needs to be checked and replaced. Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Error code "43"?????

Thanks Marty for the info on the sail switch. We experience the same error code 43 problem. Seemed like the sail switch was stuck in the back position and didn't come forward when the fan started. So I bent a metal coat hanger and used it to pull the switch foward to "unstick" it. I tested the oven turning it on and off a few times and made sure that the switch moves forward with the blower fan starting when the oven was on, and moved back when the oven was turned off. Should be obvious, but make sure the blower is not running and the oven is turned off before you stick the wire hanger back there. A pretty quick and easy thing to try before calling the repairman.

Fan/stove light switch broke needs replacing

The original fan switch for the SEG196 (circa 1995) is a four terminal switch- two for the fan and two for the light . Note that the switch spade lugs for the red and blue wires (which when connected activate the fan) are larger than those for the white and brown wires (which when connected activate the oven light). This design presumably prevented miswiring of the switch at original assembly. Since the four terminal switch is nearly impossible to find (it was discontinued several years ago), an inexpensive fix is to replace the four wire switch with a two wire SPST toggle switch. However, this means that either the fan function or the light function can be preserved- not both. I elected to keep the fan function, and simply wired the red & blue wires to the two terminals of a heavy duty replacement SPST toggle switch. Be sure to fully insulate the remaining (in this case) white and brown wires with electrical tape or wire nuts before tucking them below the new switch. Total cost: $6.00 for switch. Jenn air range, model CVG4280B, repair, ignitor problem. Ignitors will not work on any burner. Burners can be lit manually. Power is available at the electical box. Fan comes on when either burner turned...

I do not know the cause BUT the fan behavior (on for left burners, off for right burners) is by design. The high-speed fan has two switches; 1) the primary switch visible centered between top two knobs, 2) secondary switches integrated with left burner knobs.

Smeg Oven electric burning smell

My Smeg cooker worked fine for 5 years. Then I noticed that the fan which stays on after you turn off the oven did not ever turn off, unless you switched the oven off at the fuse box. I think this is a fan that cools the oven down, but some bit of it is now broken because it doesn't realise that the oven has cooled down. It smells funny when you first turn it on, so I don't know if that is an electrical fault smell. Model possibly 70cm A420-5, but could be an earlier model (bought in April 2000). Is double oven with 4 rings on top, 70cm wide.

Cooling fan running continuously

CREDA Kitchen Range -The cooling fan and oven fan run contiuously when the oven is turned off. The only way at present to stop them is to switch the stove off at the cooker supply box. When you switch it back on at the supply box, both the fans start start running again. How can I fix it ?
Many thanks Stu.
