We have an GE Profile @ 2005 side by side Model PSC 23 SGRCS5, SRRi L8411485. The freezer temperature has been fluctuating from -1 to 15 degrees. The icemaker is not working. We have replaced the motherboard and the water inlet valve (which did correct the water dripping out of the water dispenser and water running out all over the icemaker). The temp is not cooling on the freezer side. We tested the thermistors(three of them) by placing them in ice and then testing the resistance in the motherboard and they all tested ok. Is it possible the new motherboard we got is bad? How can we test it? Do you have any other suggestions for us to try?

The board could be bad, sounds like you have done the test by chilling then warming the thermister and see the rise/drop in ohms value depending whether the thermister is warmer or colder

Start with the easiest possible problem to solve. Clean it. Not the inside, not the front door; clean the outside, the underside, the back side, the compressor area.
A fridge does not produce cold. It moves heat from the inside to the outside. Step one is to make sure that heat can be released into your kitchen verses sitting in a layer of insulation.

If the freezer temperature is okay, you might want to check the damper control. The airflow from the freezer might be blocked. Now, if the freezer temp is not where it's supposed to be (0F-10F degrees), then you need to check the cold control or there may be an issue with the defrost system.

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer2_bing.gif and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Freezer temperature fluctuating way up and down. 0 recommended. 11 degrees right now. 18 earlier. Food defrosting. Ice cream soft. GE Profile bottom drawer freezer. Only 3-4 years old.
Your problem could stem from an issue with the defrost timer, the compressor or its attachments (e.g.: relay, capacitor, etc.), or the freezer/evaporator fan motor. Contact an appliance service company.
