Clearance?? I have called everyone imaginable to try to figure out what the clearance should be when installing this wine cooler in a already built in cabinet. I want to be sure that it gets enough air so it will stay cool. Can YOU possibly answer my question? Can it be next to an icemaker? Do you have an owners manual for this product?

What is a build-in wine cooler?

A build-in wine cooler is designed to be built into exiting counter and cabinetry. Build in wine cooler includes a front ventilation system which channels the heat forward from the unit, just like any other wine cooler.

Can I install a thermoelectric wine cooler as a built-in cooler?

No. If a thermoelectric wine cooler were built-in, it would not be able to dispel the heat it emits and the fridge would not be able to reach the necessary temperatures.

I always thought that light was bad for wine. Why is it that almost every wine cooler is look at has bright lights built inside?

The lights in a wine cooler are LED lights. These are safe forms of lighting to use as they will not raise the temperature of your wine.

Loud noise

The compressor fan is making the noise and causing overheating as well. Easy fix. Call Danby with model # and they can figure out correct fan. Part will cost around $10 and is easy to replace. Plug and play with screws. Good luck

Danby wine cooler model dwc172bl thermostat replacement

Once I figured out there were black plastic caps covering the screws holding the inside back panel in place, it was an easy fix. The cooler is now up and running. Thank you for giving me the $10 incentive to figure it out myself.

E4 Code

Dear moriquenda
welcome to fixya.
Did you try resetting the system by pulling the plug and waiting 5 minutes then restarting the wine cooler? This may solve you problem.

Danby expects customers to call service and does not imagine the rest of the world being able to utilize these codes.
Closed minded, Huh?

UNFORTANETLY YOU NEED IT REPAIRED BY A TECH AS THERE IS NO HOME REMEDY FOR THAT PROBLEM.YOU MIGHT HAVE A FAULTY COMPRESSOR (MOTOR) OR A GAS LEAK.LET ME NO IF YOU NEED FUTHER ASSISTANCE ALSO THE VENTALATION COULD CAUSE IT AS YOU SAY THAT IT IS BUILT INTO THE CABINITS SO REMOVE IT AND TRY IT BEFORE YOU CALL A TECH.GOODLUCK.MOHAMED
