This unit goes in steps, 1-- thru--4 Step 1, vent fan blower motor runs & prove thru the air tube, which closes a switch and tells the circuit board to go to step---2 Step 2 lights the glow plug and goes to step 3 automatically, Step 3, opens the gas valve and send in gas thru the long venturi tubes which lights from the glow plug and on the last tube, theres a rod that sticks into the flame, if no flame or not working properly, it will shut down the starting sequences and retry for 4-times and automaticaly lockout till unplug and start over. (whever step it stops at, then thats where your problem is!

I have amana 90 air command with aprilaire 550 humidifier i found water under my furnace today . we had one 80degree day so I uncover my airconditioner and than we had snow and i forgot to cover it back up...

Hello, it's kinda diffucult to tell where the water is coming from without actually seeing it, but since you say it is coming from the bottum of the furnace it might be that the condensate pump might be clogged up or one of the hoses could be leaking that leads into the condensate pump. One other thing to check would be the humidifier, somtimes they can either leak from the drain line or the humidifier itself, check these areas out and and ask me further questions if needed.

Have a Amana Distinctions model GMH800453ANAB furnance light indicator blinks 6 times . Which reads open Roll out. What is this and can I repair myself.

Hello, A roll out is a switch that senses the temp near the burners. If the the flame pattern in the burners is abnormal that roll out switch will open and turn off the furnace for safety. You can try cleaning the burners yourself and see if that will fix the problem, make sure you turn off the power and gas to the Furnace when working on it. However, if that does not fix the problem Iw ould call a HVAC technician to inspect the furnace, sometimes it could be low combustion air or a problem with the gas input to the burners.

Hello, I have a Amana Air Command 80 model #GHI90A50, 22 years old. This furnace is on its third ingnition module (last one two yeras ago). The symptom I am trying to diagnose has been ongioing since this...

If your furnace lights and the gas stays on for 8 to 10 seconds, then shuts right back off, then you need to clean your flame sensor with light sand paper or steel wool. You might need a new flame sensor, but most of the time they can be cleaned an will work well after cleaning.

Amana furnace

This is no doubt due to failure of the "hot surface ignitor". This device lights the main burners for your furnace, and they fail a lot. I strongly recommend the replacement should be done by a technician.
