There is spark and fuel/fuel pressure is fine. It will start and run fine, I can drive as far as I want but once I shut it off it is done for the day. It wont start until the following day.

Sorry I guess I should ask if they fuel and spark are still there after you shut it off? If so then I would do a compression test and check the timing

Also have you had it on a scanner yet? I know a lot of garages don't have the plugs, as you have an odb1 set up. Call around you should be able to find someone.

03 expedition again running slugish so i changed sparks fuel filter changed oil. Crunk up this morning fine no problems then it shut off could this be faulty fuel pump. Im in process of getting new cats...

I would try again after the cats have been replaced, they could be the issue. If you suspect the fuel pump you can hook up a pressure gauge to it and see what the pressure is when it doesn’t start.

In the morning the truck start fine and runs fine.

check the alternator... battery isn't getting sufficient power from it. if tthe problem continues there will be chance of battery dead. duo to the less power supply from alternator, if we increase the rpm though the vehicle wont go faster and engine gets off. so my suggestion is please check the altrnator replace it if required.

2008 Mercury Mountaineer electrical issues

This is a devious problem which could lie anywhere. So many things not functioning would perhaps be a ground problem. Maybe take some extra care in cleaning the battery terminals, check if the ground wire is connected to the chassis. Do you have rodents in your area? Maybe they nibbled some wire somewhere?

Dual engine and oil lights

No way to tell what happened with the high idle if you can't make it happen on demand.
The oil and engine lights would come on if the engine died while the key was still on so that was a normal event.
You might stop somewhere and have the computer scanned for trouble codes just in case the computer recorded anything.
The difference in octane should not be a big problem if you don't switch back and forth, after about 50 miles of driving the computer will adjust for the octane of the fuel.

Engine failure

When a catalytic converter is coming apart on the inside, it can restrict air flow and power, and it usually happens or gets worse when the vehicle has been running long enough to generate a lot of heat. Once it cools down, the symptoms can completely go away until you begin to drive it again. It's one possibility.

Wont start takes hours to start again

.When the injectors leak they flood the engine and holding pedal to the floor or waiting hours for fuel to dissipate. See if you have spark and fuel when it wont run. If there is no spark check the electronic control module under the cap

My 1991 dodge dakota truck will shut off while I'm

Dakotas and Durangos are notorious for crankshaft position sensor failures. Often these start off as intermittent issues. When they occur, it's like someone shuts off the key. If may start right back up or may take minutes or hours to clear up. It isn't the only thing that can cause this issue, but is the first one I'd look at. The sensor is relatively cheap ($50.00) and is easily installed as it is attached to the transmission bell housing.

Jerking and Dying while driving(highway)

Start with changing the fuel filter. If that doesn't do it, then change the fuel pump.

Fuel pump relay

If this happens every time you start your truck and it shuts off the same each time, you just might have a dirty fuel filter only allowing so much gas pass through until it clogs once again. I once had a chevy van, when I would drive it, would go a few miles and engine would shut down.   I would wait 10 or 15 minutes, it would start up and allow me to drive a few more miles then shut down again.  I changed the fuel filter, It was fine after that.
