the unit will have wires that need to connect to your foot brake, and parking brake. Its the law in the state I live (Alaska) that professional installation requires the dealer to install the wires to the foot and parking brake. There is usually a sequence to getting the picture up. (like holding down foot brake while applying parking break) then the message will disappear.
I simply bypassed this by connecting the two wires to the AUX (usually red wire) so there was a 12 volt draw. added two switches inline to act as the brake sensors.
Make sure the wiring is proper.. Are all you wiring a brand new player into your car? If yes here's the wiring procedure.. all you do is match the colours from the wire harness provided and the
one for your car but if you do the wir cutting method then
Yellow is your constant wire
Red is your accessory wire
Bllack is ground after that there will be a orange wir e that is
optional hook up to run the sterio with the dash dimmer 2-3 blue wires
which you can use for AMP remote wire or elctronic Antena
then there are the White and white with black stripe
Green and green with black strip
Purple " "
Grey " "
are your 2 front and 2 rear speakers
which go where i always for get but when your installing the sterio you
can set the sterio to run frount let and then hook the wiers for that
speaker up when you fin the right one
You cant insert a dvd disc? maybe the loading mechisum is faulty. if the dvd is inserted (hear it spinning) but no picture the reader could be faulty or the easy to fix option the out wires arn't in the correct order or colour.
I have the same problem. I conect the red and yellow wire at positive battery and the black wire to ground, but it doesn`t work. I press the reset button and nothing. I am try to turn it on with a power supply. could you tell me or show with a picture how to conect All?
The problem is that you're trying to bypass a safety feature. Newer video head units are smart enough to know when you've just grounded the brake switch wire so you can watch it while you're driving. Try hooking it up to your parking brake wire.
