Question about Symbol MC70

1 Answer

Outofmemoryexception have 2 units of the MC70. i really want to know if the memory problem i have it typical to mobile devices, or just my own. it has 64MB of RAM. when i open the unit and look at the available memory for PROGRAMS, i see figures that range between 25-30MB free. this means that the WM5 takes 30-35MB of memory. so this leaves very little room for my application. lanching a cf2 app, requires up to 10MB of memory (including opening connection to sql mobile ). opening a conection to a webservice, takes it's toll also (about 1-2 MB) initiating the Barcode or imager engines of the unit also takes memory. soon, i am left with very little memory and sometimes get the OUT OF MEMORY exception (this is because some memory never gets reclaimed) whould appriciate any thoughts on this issue !

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Active sync

Hello,

Depending on your OS, you'll need Windows Mobile Device Center 32-bit or 64-bit. ActiveSync is for Windows XP machines;

Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6 1 for Windows Vista 32 bit

Windows Mobile Device Center 6 1 Driver for Windows Vista 64 bit

Thanks
Jay

Perpetual loading, extremely slow. Symbol MC70 Scanner

To get the device back to factory settings is the cold boot not enough. You would need to download the clean boot files from suport.symbol.com, the files for Windws Mobile 5 unit are located here http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=ReleaseNotesforMC70XXCleanBootFileshtm&sliceId=&dialogID=191034578&stateId=1%200%20191036040
The instrictions are provided in the zip file.

M7094 Warm Boot Error

Go to devzone.symbol.com, then click on the "Click here to enter Support Central" link. From there enter "clean boot" in the search box and select "Mobile Computers" in the Product Line drop-down and MC70 in the Product drop-down. Then click "Go". When the results are displayed, choose to sort by "Most recent" instead of "Most relevant". Then the first entry will be the clean boot files for if your device is running WM 6.1, and the one that's about 5 entries down will be the clean boot files for if your device is running WM 5.0.

MC70 having roaming issues

If you're just speaking to the MC70, there is a setting on the CDMA (Sprint, Verizon), but I don't know if this works on the GSM version.

1) Got to: Start > phone
2) Dial ##DEBUG (##33284)
3) Select Talk
4) Select System
5) Select Details.

The rest should be clear.

Datawedge blocks the camera

The camera and scanner on the MC55xx share the same interrupt. While Datawedge 3.x is running, it has control of both devices and causes the behavior you're seeing. If you stop Datawedge before starting up the camera app (for example), it'll work just fine.

Why Motorola thought interrupt sharing for two commonly used hardware devices is a good idea, I'll never know.

you need to check the memory
1. press the start menu
