Put in a cd and it says "no disk"

I put a cd in each of the 5 cd slots and it says "no disk" every time. Is the cd being fed properly by the disk changer? Does the disk changer have a history of breaking. It seams like it isn't going in properly. If you have any solutions to this problem please notify me. thankyou -matt

The laser lens in your CD might be dirty or failing. Try the following solutions: Clean the laser lens with a DVD player lense cleaning disc. Lense cleaning discs are available at many electronics retail store. Sorry i can't help you more.

When I turn on the system one of the cd slots keeping opening and will not stay closed.

take the top cover off and make sure there is not a loose cd in there. This is very common on these units. If not, then you will most likely have to get the mechanism replaced.

Won't read discs. Says no disc numerous times of opening and closing, then occassionally it will read the disc.

If this problem occurs only at this cd it's a disk problem. If it occurs on various disks try using a cd/dvd cleaner set, a wet one is better. Follow the instructions on the set. The main idea is to put one drip of the included liquid at the set (usually isopropyl alcohol) at a specific place (like small brush) on the disk surface and play this disk. This way the "brush" will clean up the laser lens and after that the cd/dvd player will be able to read the disks. BE CAREFULL not to put too much liquid on the "brush". In case you can, use a Q-tip with isopropyl alcohol to clean up the cd lens manually. In case this doesn't solve your problem, the cd player needs laser lens replacement by a technician.

CHANGER ERROR ON MY PANASONIC PT960 LOUD GRINDING SOUND

I am willing to bet you had the same problem as I did. I am guessing it's way past it's warranty time frame and this model has since been discontinued by Panasonic. So I figured I'd take it apart and see what was up for giggles. What I did find was a little black arm like piece of plastic. I took out the entire dvd player portion and left it out and put the rest back together. I can use the surround sound now, and that's what matters the most, I can use my PS3 for the dvd/blue ray stuff. It was easy to take apart and separate the connections. good luck.

Emerson AV50 says ''NO DISK''

Hi, sounds like you have a dirty laser eye on the DVD player. The eye gets dirty and it won't read movies or function properly. I would recommend a DVD Cleaner CD. I would have you try this before I have you open the DVD Player to clean the Laser Manually. Please try this and Post the Result for me to Review. Thank you

Place DVD in any slot and it says "reading disc" then "no disc"

When you get no disk error, that is usually because of a problem with the optical laser lens that is dirty, faulty or opaque, and will start operating on certain disks better than others.

In that case you will hear disk spinning, whirring and clicking, but the TOC (table of content track at start of CD/DVD will not be read, therefore the error.

Whe this problem is starting you may be able to read only CD, DVD or Blue ray, or for example only DVD-R and not +R , or only to read and not to write and so on. After more prolonged usage , often the unit goes losing the rest of functions, and ends up not reading anything at all.

If instead there is no noise, and disk does not spin at all , then there is a faulty motor, or the motor micro-switch is bad. This situation is far less common than the lens problem.

Try first using a CD/DVD or Blue ray lens cleaner disk to clean the lens. If that does not work you will need to disassemble the drive , and clean lens directly with q tips and isopropyl alcohol, or to replace the CD/DVD lens, or the whole drive unit.

Home Theater problem

It seems like u have a dirty optical pickup ( which means the laser head ) which is used to read data from the cd. Most of the time it's dirt and if u did not cleaned it with a lens cleaner weekly, u a re going to take it apart once u get "no disc" error.
If u are upto it I can guide u, but i doubt it. Most of the time the laser unit can be accessed easily by taking the cover and cleaned with just a cotton bud with a light touch on the focus lens.
Still u need to be familier with it, if are going to take it apart.
And yes all it might need is cleaning, and the service guy cud overcharge u by saying he replaced the optical unit....so and so.. hehe
If u have a camera take a pic and sent it to me or we can chat, if u are like to do it urself
Cheers

Unable to eject CD's/DVD's

Dear blxriverrat,
Optical Lens of Home Theater got stuck and its sled-mechanism doesn't move, thats why you see message "please wait" If you can handle this system then open its top cover, open plastic cover on CD mechanism and push the Optical Lens inward-outward 2-3 times carefully. No need to say, 1st unplug your theater system from A/C outlet before opening top cover.

Philips hts 6510 no disk prompt does not play dvd

Ok looks llike a lens problem..Try this
Get a lens cleaner CD with liquid..Put two drops of liquid on the brush of the lens cleaner..insert the CD in your drive and play it..If it plays fine otherwise you will need to replace the lens..Get it replaced rather..should run you about 25-50$.If you want to get it repaired give it for repair only in a Philips showroom..
Good luck!

Disk changers won't open

These mechanisms are pretty complicated, and yes there could be a goodies jammed inside the unit to prevent the unit to operate. But a lot of the times when these units jam up, it is because of the unit going out of timing due to a broken gear. This really should be looked at by an authorized Phillips servicer, as they would have all of the proper documentation and equipment to service it properly. Good Luck
