How to clean fan for acer aspire

You could try air duster or even buy a fan that goes underneath the laptop to help it stay cool.

I hear noise coming from the back vents and I think it might be the processor fan. Is there a way to fix/clean it so that noise goes away and do I have to open it from the bottom? This is for Qosmio G25.

You probably need to replace the cooling fan, but you can try cleaning it out first. Get a can of compressed air or use an air compressor to spray pressurized air into the vent to spray dust out. If this doesn't work, you probably need to replace the fan. I actually found a guide for opening up the Qosmio G25 and replacing or cleaning the cooling fan. Check it out:

I have an acer 5741G which my father got me last year. i have just installed one game in it. when i play the laptop gets heated too much(that too within 30 minutes) and i have to stop playing to cool it...

Overheating of a laptop can cause degredation of components and possibly system failure but generally it could be a very simple fix. Best thing to do is to go out and buy a laptop cooling stand for it. The laptop will sit on this stand, which has fans that will blow cool air into the laptop from it's intake below the laptop and this should help to keep it from reaching critical temperatures. I recommend a laptop cooling stand for anyone who owns a laptop as the one fault of almost all laptops is the intake is usually directly below the laptop, and when you rest it on your lap you end up choking out it's air supply allowing it to overheat.

Fan error

There is a good possibility that the fan is full of fluff. If you hold a vacuum cleaner pipe up against the exhaust of the laptop, that may clear the blockage.
Hope that helps.

My laptop wont go past the windows loading bar it goes by 2 times then stops on the third one then restarts. what do i do to fix this?

Try running a Boot disc, like Hiren's Boot disk and go to Mini Windows XP and see if it locks up, if not then prolly have to reload the OS again do a repair install to fix it, more than likely a corrupted sys file, and if it does lock up prolly a internal issue, check your HDD/Memory/CPU cooling Fan may be full of dust, blow it out thre the cooling slots on the side with Canned air or Air hose at 60PSI to prevent fan blades from breaking. Hope this helps.

A blue screen came up when i was trying to play my game and if i dont have a fan behind my laptop it will shut down my uncle said its my fans that they cant cool my laptop enough and that maybe the game...

Usually it's too things:

Heat or a driver issue...or both.

You should get some canned / compressed air and blow the dust out of the laptop. Make sure it's off !!!

If you still have the problem afterwards then you can check Toshiba's support website if there is an updated video driver for your laptop.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Gateway M-6307 power dies on boot up (reaches widow screen dies)

Hi,

Make sure that it must be charged. If you are sure, there might be a problem of overheating.

If you check, there is a CPU fan. Overheating might cause thie.

Use a vacuum to cool on the fan to make it spin manually, hmmm it actually started to work after that.

If not, let me know.

Thanks for using "Fixya".

Power goes off

1. Your heat sink (keeps CPU cool) may have dust built up on it causing the laptop to overheat and shut down to avoid damage.
Try a can of compressed air ($7.00 Wal-Mart) shoot air in all the vents on the side and under the laptop (do this outside or someplace easy to clean up)
2. Your fan to keep things cool may be stuck (the cleaning with compressed air could fix that) OR it could be broken. When you turn on your computer SOME fans power up this will let you know if it works (some only come on when needed) if your fan does not come on at all you may need to change it. You can Google laptop fans to find a replacement fan and install it yourself.
Good luck My Computer Guy
