I appear to have solved this problem. Firstly I slightly adjusted the door catch on the actual machine, the strong wire bit, outwards. Then I undid the screws on the top part of the door exposing the electrics of the dial and door micro switch. I noticed that the microswitch (the small metal part pushed in and let out by the plastic arm rotated when opening and shutting the door) was dirty or rusty. I sprayed a little WD40 on this and played with the door catch a few times. I then screwed everything back in to place and the machine works perfectly. Easy and quick and a lot cheaper than the £80 I had just been quoted by a service person to come and change the switch mechanism as he called it!

First check and see if there is plenty of water coming into the machine by examining the fill hose inself. You likely will have to disconnect that hose, not at the machine end, the sink end. Then, find a way to test the wires to the fill valve, should likely be 110 volts when the machine starts, allowing the fill valve to open. A volt-ohm meter will tell you, set it to over 110 volts on the A.C. setting. If no power to the fill valve, you may be facing a new timer. Be blessed.
hi it may need a new inlet valve, can you hear a humming sound when its due to fill.or is it doing nothing.if its not humming change the valve, also these dishwashers are well known for overheating and sticking on cycle.
Flushing the hose with hot water and vinegar would not help.
If the machine is filling and then stops, parts that may be responsible are the impeller pump and the control board.
If the machine is under filling, test also the floater switch.
If the water is not warm, check the heating system or the hot water supply.
If this machine has dual inlet, test that both solenoids are opening.
nova cd112 this is a simple fix the machine has a electronic switch to add water to the machine it then has another switch to say the machine has water iin it , this switch is the one that is not working this is the one that turns on the element and heat the water .it costs around a tenner to replace u can find it as it is connected to the element via a wire conection .this a a common problem of over enginearing as this switch is not needed and is not on older machine .ie this switch can only come on when the machine has water in it in other words only after the switch to put water in the machine has been on.can this go on i hope u know what i mean lol. now u can replace this yourself or get an engineer it should take an engineer no more than 10/15 mins to fix better still have him bypass this switch and u will never haver the problem again as this switch is prone to going fixthis and the machine should last years no problem as its not a bad machine not quite a bosch but better than a zanussi or indicit etc hope this helps and may i just say that i tried everything including replacing the element ,stat and cpu non of which worked before realizing it was this .i must also say before u try this. Switch on your machine on put it on a universal cycle as u hear the water going in the machine open the door and add hot water as hot as u can close the door and the machine should do a full cycle including emptying and reheating the water this proves its not the cpu ,element or stat note the machine will not do the cycle without the hot water going in at the start if it does the cycle then its 100 % this switch hope this helps and sorry for the lond explantion bye
not enough water in machine
do you have hi or low pressure
when machine is washing try adding a extra litre of water manually eg milk bottle or jug
note the sound of washer before and after
if this improves then that is problem
