If its an internal burner, you have to open your computer case, remove your old drive and note the setting ont he back, the "jumper" will be on either M, S or CS. hey buddy if u have Brought that laptop frm these Country (Canada, United States; U.S. territories; Bermuda) then u can buy Region 1 DVD .these r the only region who Support Region 1.
check both documentation packages for dvd and m/b...that will tell you, no doubt....without the m/b part number or maker, we can't do much for you here
Resolved, unsure what I did but a full re-install of xp and all is working after I did my final windows updates. keep in mind that a fresh install of winxp sp2 with none of 88 recommended patches it still wasnt working
