Most of these decks will simply STOP recording after 22 seconds of no analog or 6 seconds of no digital input; I have not heard of the Auto Pause feature.
Most Sony MD's 'Auto Pause' feature can only be turned on & off with the remote. I am still unsure whether this is a feature on the JE480. I am led to believe that it is however you will need an older model's remote to turn it on & off. You need to locate the 'A-Space' button and press until 'A Pause' appears in the display. You can now turn it on or off. Good luck.
1. Turn Player on with no disc inside 2. Set the Unit to DVD mode (Not VHS) 3. Turn Player OFF 4. Turn Player on with no disc inside 5. Press pause on the remote control 6. Then key in 3 1 4 1 5 9 [CODE -- will then be displayed on the player display] 7. Key in desired Region number [0 for Auto Multi Region, or manually select 1 to 6] 8. Then Press Pause again 9. Turn off player and wait 5 seconds, then back on again.
Turn off the auto red eye removal option......you can manually remove red eye later. If the auto red eye removal is on, it will try and process each picture after you take it and slow down camera.
