Question about Microsoft PC Desktops

In my computer with Vista Premium I have installed DSL and Dial-up softwares. Practically I use only DSL but some time on screen the windows of Dial-up appears and stops all computer actions. For actions continuing I am forced to close Dial-up windows but it insistantly appears once more. How to exclude this appearance without whole erazing of Dial-up account?

Maybe it is in the startup

Hello kelvinvu, according to the information that I gathered from this computer model, it has Windows Vista 32 bit home premium installed on it. Windows XP is an older operating system so you can't "upgrade" to it. You could however install a fresh copy (more likely completely erasing all your previous information on vista and data files) or you could upgrade to Windows 7. Since you are using "Windows Vista 32 bit home premium", you have to upgrade to "Windows 7 32 bit home premium" or better. So if you were trying to "upgrade" to Windows 7 Home Basic, it will not allow that since it considers that a downgrade in the Operating System. You should actually be able to pop in the Windows 7 Home Premium CD while vista is running and start the upgrade process pretty painlessly that way. Just access the CD and walk through the menus for upgrading Vista to Windows 7. As a reminder, you must use the 32 bit discs. If you try and use the 64 bit discs (a different operating system as far as windows is concerned) you will have to go through the same process of installing a new version of windows (not upgrade). I cannot install ethernet driver of hp compaq d530. Where can i find it?

If you are trying to install the driver for the Broadcom ethernet NIC that was pre-installed (NOT an ethernet card that you purchased and installed yourself), there is a softpack (updated driver installation) download available from HP/Compaq. It will install the driver automatically for you, just download it from the link below and run the ".exe" file.

You may need to check to see which "service pack" you are currently on.

See below requirements:

Upgrading the OS Windows XP not possible


Upgrading from OS Windows XP:

you can upgrade from Windows XP to Windows Vista(ultimate, premium, home, business.......),
you have to buy a Windows Vista CD and install a fresh copy or format.

Some Minimum Requirements:

i) Min 2GB RAM or atleast 1GB RAM(if you have>1GB RAM installation of Windows Vista will not continue)

II) External Graphic Card. for some versions of Windows Vista(to run Aero Interface, special feature only   in some versions of Windows Vista)

NOTE:

"Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor" is a software from Microsoft which you can download from internet, this  can help you determine which features and edition of Windows Vista will run on your computer. 

 i.e., when u load this software on windows xp it will suggest which upgrade version of windows vista          will suit your system(based on you system configuration. or hardware components.) and then            you can install the upgraded version of windows xp(mostly windows vista home,.........)

Starting the recovery from power up If Windows Vista cannot open and if the Recovery partition on the hard disk drive is functioning properly, you can perform a System Recovery by performing the following procedure:
  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Disconnect all connected devices (such as the Personal Media Drive, USB drives, printer, and fax), remove media from drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware. Do not disconnect the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and power cord.
  3. Turn on the computer.
  4. Do one of the following actions depending on how Windows Vista was installed:
    • If Windows Vista came pre-installed on your computer, press the F11 key repeatedly when the first screen opens (the logo screen), until Recovery Manager program opens on the screen.
    • If your computer was upgraded from Windows XP to Windows Vista, press the F10 key repeatedly when the first screen opens (the logo screen) until Recovery Manager program opens on the screen.
    If Recovery Manager does not open, a set of recovery discs is needed to perform a System Recovery. Follow the instructions listed in Starting the recovery from recovery discs .
  5. Click Next .
  6. On the screen that prompts for Microsoft System Restore select No , and then click Next .
  7. The Recovery Manager gives you the option of backing up your data files. Backing up your files is recommended. To back up your files select Yes , and then click Next . Follow the onscreen instructions. If you do not want to backup your files, select No , and then click Next .
  8. After the System Recovery is complete, the computer restarts and continues into Windows setup. Complete the setup screens and wait until the computer finishes the setup. Then, turn off the computer, reconnect all peripheral devices, and turn on the computer.
  9. Before using the computer, update and protect it by reinstalling any virus and security software that was installed before the System Recovery.
  10. Reinstall any software applications that were added after puchasing the computer, and replace any files that were backed up.

Have used Lemark X5150 with old computer for some time (windows 98SE Have just bought new computer - Pacfkard Bell with windows Vista Home Premium and cannot install printer etc on it. pop up just says...


Almost certainly you need to update your driver although I thought Vista already had this driver. Anyway try downloading Vista Printer driver from link and reinstalling your printer.

Blue screen error on windows vista home premium 64 bit


Without the error code, I will address the 'BSOD' in general here. Normally, this will happen when there is a driver fault with one (or more) of your hardware. Have you recently installed software? Older versions of programs that are not Vista approved will also cause this.
Will your computer start in Safe Mode?
You can also do a Repair of Vista using the System Recovery Options. (Choose the "Repair" option when prompted - this will tell you what is actually causing the Blue Screen.

Hard drive driver problem


Hi,

It is possible that your hard drive is a SATA and therefore not readily readable by 98, XP but surprised not even by Vista. In any case, since you would still prefer to run XP (due to other software compatibility issues), pls press F6 when prompted by the XP installer. Additionally, you would need to have ready in a floppy the appropriate SATA drivers for your motherboard. They maybe downloaded from the motherboard manufacturer's website or possibly in the installer/driver CD that came with the PC.

Other than the above, it is also possible that you may have some issues with the availability of XP drivers for the other devices for that computer specially if it is branded.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
