Question about Xerox WorkCentre PE16 All-In-One Laser Printer
I have problem with my PE16. When I make a copy so that the paper is on the glass "screen" no problem.
But when I put the paper on the feeding station and start copying (=scanning) half of the paper is unclear.
Should I chance the the scanning beam?
If so, do you where to get it?

Remove the back cover. And looking from the back, remove the right side cover. There is a white ribbon cable and one connector with mostly red wires, remove and reseat those. Return power to the machine and see if it comes on.
If not, then remove the right side cover, the 2 screws that fasten the scanner to the frame, remove the scanner and then the controle consol, ( display.) then unplug all the connectors on the display and reconnect them.
It the display still does not work after reseating all the connectors, the display itself is defective.

Recently I had to configure a 17" Aluminum PowerBook and a Xerox Workcentre PE 16. That multifunction laser monochrome printer is not supported by MacOS X, but I tried all the same.... and no glue for that, until I went on the Samsung webpage and noticed their SCX-4216F printer. This machine is the same as the PE 16.
So I downloaded the lastest drivers from Samsung's download centre (drivers for Tiger too), installed the drivers on the PowerBook (running 10.3.4), connected the printer and when I selected the printer ... tada! It automatically selected the Samsung driver, so I clicked on OK and started printing. Everything was OK!
But it doesn't end here: even the Lexmark X215 MPF has the same chassis as the Xerox and Samsung. Yet, on Lexmark's website there are no Mac OS X drivers, but Samsung's drivers work just the same. I hope this hint will help others...
