The audio driver may be corrupted or deleted. Try re-installing the audio driver.
You can download the motherboarddrivers from Intel WEB site. Select your model motherboard/device, and makesure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers that matchesyour Windows operating system.

On a pc this old the capacitors start to dry up. If it's that then it's time to buy a new pc.
Simple test: try going in the BIOS. If (by miracle) you can, change the boot order and put the cd first. Then boot from a Linux Live-CD like http://pclinuxos.com/ If that works then Windows was completely corrupted by malware. Reinstall and next time use a better antivirus.
Yesterday night i resove the problem with the intel by many e-mail.
For all guys that have the same problem , the solution is:
1- put the jumper in position pin 2 and 3.
2- turn on the PC with jumper in the same position ( pin 2 and 3)
3- the bios start in "recovery mode"
4- deselect the memory "aggressive mode"
5- save bios setting, then power off the PC
6- set bios jumper in position 1 and 2

check fan is working and check heatsink for being clogged up with dust etc. you have to remove fan to check heatsink underneath the vanes on it should be clean with no dust on. also have you overclocked your cpu
