Try to print clean page , Print a cleaning page
During the printing process, paper, toner,
and dust particles can accumulate inside the printer and can cause print
quality issues such as toner specks or spatter, smears, streaks, lines
or repeating marks.
Follow these steps to clean the printer's paper path.
Load copier-grade paper (not bond, heavy, or rough paper).
On the printer's control panel, touch the Menu
Touch Configure Device
Touch Print Quality
Touch Process Cleaning Page
message appears on the printer control panel display while the cleaning
is taking place. The cleaning process takes a few minutes to complete.
Do not turn the printer off until the cleaning process has finished.
A page will be printed when the task is complete. Discard the page.
You might need to repeat the cleaning
process to thoroughly clean the printer. Print a few more pages to see
if the problem is resolved.
Run a "half test".
Put paper in the manual feed tray.
Print anything. Watch the paper, when it feeds about 1/2 way into the printer, open the cover.
Pull out the toner and look down at the paper.
If it has the dots, replace the toner. If it doesn't have dots, the fuser is probably bad.
You have a laser printer, so a prime and clean of the heads is impossible since there are no heads. I can only assume that you want to clean a few inside parts to solve your problem. You can do some light cleaning with the little brush located just inside the panel as you open your toner drawer, but this will not solve your problem either. Black dots and smudge are usually caused by a too moist environment, or from being placed too near an Air Conditioner vent.
Remember that your printer works by heat transfer and your laser. fuser and drum become quite hot. In a humid area such as a kitchen, this can mean that the drum will condense as it cools. This may also happen if it cools too quickly due to being placed near an AC duct or window AC. To solve your problem, move the printer to an area with no coffee pots, vaporizers, or other moisture producing appliances and do a warm up several times then a shut down to dissipate any moisture. Now remove the toner cartridge and shake it lightly side to side, taking care not to tip the toner cartridge on its end or turning it sideways. This will redistribute the toner evenly across the cartridge. Reinsert the toner, and try printing a test page. Remember that the drum is the hottest part of your printer, so take care not to touch it.
Here is a photo detailing the primary parts of a basic laser printer for your reference.
dots are usually always caused by the drum..drums are very easy to replace..(you don't even need a screwdriver)
remove the unit that the toner sits into..it's called a process unit..comes out as a whole with the toners...
next open left cover..
remove waste toner bottle. (drum sits right above it!!!
next remove drum by pushing on grey button and pulling drum
out the left side of the printer.
as far as the jam message you might need to replace tray feed tires located up under the machine
do this procedure 1.print test page then stop the printer on the middle print proses by turn the printer of or open the rear cover 2.remove the paper jam carefully 3.look to the paper if the problem found change the drum unit els the fusser unit cause the problem
You need to clean your drum unit:
