Question about Computers & Internet
I have been given an old company owned IBM Thinkpad G40 Model 2388-3RG notebook that was to be recycled. It has a password protection on boot up and I cannot reach the last user... No cds or books came with the machine nor could I find any info on the net, also...
Any help as to how can I overcome this required password? I have no need of the files...
Thank you in advance!
Get a Windows CD, make sure the Boot Order in your BIOS Setup is set to CD Drive before the Hard Drive, then boot to the CD and format the HD and install windows. Hopefully there isn't a BIOS password and all should be well?
Let us know how it goes and good luck.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
