Question about Linksys Wireless-N WRT150N Router

1 Answer

No network Have a wrt150N which has been working fine. Only thing we've done is try to configure laptop to a blackberry. Now the laptop(compaq v6000) cant find the network, although it does find othyer unsecured networks in the area. Comes up with 'settings saved on the computer for the networkdont match the requirements of the network' If I plug internet cable directly into the laptop, all is fine, so think the network is OK. from memory the 'security' light on the front of linksys used to be lit, but isn't any more. Not sure if this has anything to do with it!! Any thoughts? Ta - Pete

The Wireless Security of the router doesn't match your laptop's wireless settings. Make sure you configure the wireless security password correctly on the laptop. If you don't know your wireless password, try these steps:

-Connect your laptop hard wired to the router.
-Open Internet Explorer and on the Address Bard type http://192.168.1.1 press enter.
-It will prompt you for username and password. By default, there's no username and on the password type admin and hit OK. If admin didn't work, type your own password for the router.
-When you get to the Setup page, click on Wireless Tab, then click the sub-tab Wireless Security.
-Look for Security Mode. If Security Mode is WPA-Personal, the Passphrase is the wireless security key that you need to enter on the laptop's wireless settings. If the Security Mode is WEP, the WEP Key 1 is your wireless security key. Connect to the wireless network and type it in. That should solve your wireless connection problem.

The smart phone should work fine on any wireless router. Try going to wireless settings on the phone and if it has your network remember click and hold on your network and select forget network. This should clear out any thing cached about your network. Once that is done try re-connecting to your network and enter any password you may have.

Can't connect a laptop wireless to WRT150N

What you can do is remove the wireless connection profile that is saved and create a new one. Go to wireless connection properties and create a new wireless profile. If that doesn't work, what you can try is change the wireless channel of your router to Standard Mode using channel 11 the power cycle the router.
