Question about Mitsubishi WS-65869 65" Rear Projection Television

I fixed the blinking light, but still no picture

After a thunderstorm, my TV timer light started blinking. So I replaced the capacitors on the DM board. Now it starts up and blinks for 1 minute and then goes solid green. Now the screen comes on and goes through each color (red, green, blue) and then basically stays in a fuzzy state until it turns off after 1 minute or so. I have tried pressing the menu and device buttons. Hooked up different video sources and nothing works.

Had a technician check and resolder. He said a few of my solders were marginal. Put it back together. Green light links for a minute and goes off. I turn it back on and it stays solid and does not go off, but can't get a menu etc.

I took the board into a parts shop to get new capitors. So I assume they are rated the same. Would the convergence IC cause there to be no picture at all? I pushed the menu and device for 7 seconds and the light blinks alternating between two quick blinks a pause and then 1 blink and a pause.

After replacement of all the caps (7 of them), mount the board back in the DM box.
Powered up and it will stop blinking after about 1 minute. The remote will not work but it will reset by itself and then will become normal. Turn it on and off for some attemps for confirmation..

hopefully, it will work fine

regards,

Tv turns off after 1-2 seconds what is the solution.

Green Blinking Light - Order a DM Modual from Mitsubishi. Read the plug labels when reinstalling.

Check for open pico fuse in power supply caused
by bad convergence I.C.Get pro help-you have a good set to save.Remember--practice visual acuity technique! And,above all else,do no harm!!

From understand of your problem it is most likely a blown capacitor or main IC. Unless open up the unit and test the IC's and capacitors really sure which is why I hardly answer questions about TV''s as they are hard to troubleshoot without the unit in front of you. Ive found a site that can help you via a service manual since I could not find the exact service manual for you from my manual book. The site also has the parts that you will need if ever im right and it is the capacitor or IC. As for the IC's by experience is hard to test without an Oscope but you can do it by gradually eliminating the problem, again you will have to refer to the service manual regarding that. By the way the capacitors I mean is the one that goes to the main module as that is what powers the controls for the TV. the green light is just the "pilot light" which means you have power to the TV but the power is not going past the capacitors to the main controls or the main IC. So simply put the problem can be the capacitors (Which is what you check first) if they are ok then look at the IC via using a service manual. You can use a multitester for the capacitor first if they are dead then just change them and you should be ok. Let me know what happens or updates ill reply to them as well.

If the picture looks like a 3D image, remove the convergence IC first and see if the TV powers up and stays ON, once the STK IC has been remove from the board check F9A01 and F9A06 for open conditions, if one of the fuses is open that could indicate a shorted STK IC most likely.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

The constant blinking green light means for one minutes and then goes solid green, that the TV is not booting up. This is a common problem on this set.You need to remove the shield from the DM board (standing upright on the left where the DTV RF connector is)and inside you will see the four leaky capacitors (1000 MFD 16 VOLT)replace them, plug the TV in and wait 70 seconds for the blinking light to stop, then turn on the TV.The hard part will be removing the board from the TV(lots of screws and connectors, takes time)

I fixed the blinking light, but still no picture - a3d2d2a.jpg You must do some checks first:LED does not stop blinking after plug in. Verify the standby supplies, 12-volts at connector KA pin 17, 6-volts at KA pin 18 and the 28-volts at KA pin 19, if the supplies are present suspect the DM PCB part # 934C067001 LED does not stop blinking after plug in. Check C9B01, C9B02, C9B10, and C9B11 (1000 UFD 16) on the DM PCB, if they are bad replace them with part # 181P734030 (680 UFD 16 V). LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. This model is equipped with a keyboard lock feature; this can be mistaken as a no power condition. To unlock the keyboard press and hold the "menu" button on the front panel for 10 seconds . LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Check for 3.2 volts DC at connector RF pin 4 and 5 on the Signal PCB if low suspect problems with the switches/buttons on the Control PCB part # 935D736001. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Keyboard is not locked and key inputs at connector RF pin 4 and 5 check good suspect the E2P PCB part # 934C061001.

Here is the correct and official service manual on the unit. Check all of the diagnostics first, then go into the service menu and validate your settings.

Make sure you replaced the same value of the capacitor. The fuzzy state is another component that is burned like resistor. Double check the board if there's any other burned component especially the convergence circuit. Maybe the convergence STK IC needs to be replace, so might need to double check that as well.

Blinking green light on Mitsubishi will not turn off

The capacitors on the DM board need replacement, thats a common problem it will work fine but if power is loss even for a minute the capacitor drain, then they cant recharge since they need replacement so the set will just keep blinking the timer light. Installing the V26 DM repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com will usually repair that. The kit contains the Replacement caps and the CD with detailed instructions.

Green lite flashing & no picture on screen

You won't like it but I can guarantee that the set is not booting up the digital module. Some shops will take on trying to rebuild it but it won't work, at least not for long. The only true fix is to ship the entire chassis back to Mitsubishi for rebuild. Removing it is a major piece of work and the total cost ends up being around $700 to $850. I have been fighting these units for more than five years now and I have nothing to gain by lying to you. SORRY!

WD-52725 Timer light is blinking and will not stop.

This part will cost you about 650 to 800 bucks my friend. if you have any soldering skills, and can follow directions, I posted a DM board fix. it may just be four small capacitors. Now this set that was used in the fix is not exactly like all the other Mitsubishi TV sets that still have a DM board, but if you can locate the DM board, follow the rest of the repair. if you do not know how to solder, do not take a chance, as this part is way too expensive to be experimenting around with. Get the Capcitors(there is a link there too for the capacitors)and take the DM board to a service shop, as this should not cost you a lot to have a pro do this for you. The DM board fix is located here: http://www.fixya.com/howto/h154057-mitsubishi_dm_board_repair Good luck
