I did a google search and it led me to this screen as I was after the same thing. I looked that what has been said here and did not understand the need to 'unlock' just to change a voice mail greeting.
This is what I did. I looked through my phone and this is how I was able to change my voicemail greeting recording.1. Menu2. Messages 3. More (scroll down to) 4. Voice Messages (scroll down to) 5. Listen to voice msgs From here you will hear a number of prompts to direct you. To start, hit 8 and then 4, from there you should find instructions on changing the recording and it only takes a minute.
I hope this helps future people looking for the same thing.
You will need to log into the voicemail system as you would to check your messages. There will then be a number to press (listen to the voice prompts) for voicemail options. Somewhere in there will be the option the change greeting/message. If you do not pay for a voicemail then you will have to live with the standard one your service provider uses, although you may be able to change "your call has been forwarded to the voicemail box of "JOHN DOE", is currently unavailable. This would be changed the same way I stated above.
You need to change his Voicemail number. On a Nokia this is fixed by going to your Tools/Settings and selecting Voicemail, and changing the Voicemail number there. You can get your dad's Voicemail number by calling up the customercare. But if you remove your number from the assigned Voicemail number, it should fix your problem.
The number they phone wants is your password. If you forgot it ... you may be able to change it through the website of your service provider. As a default, you might want to try the last 4 digits of your telephone number.
Usually you can put in your own cell number (with 1+Area Code). If that does not work you will need to contact your service provider and they can give you the correct retrieval number. They may be able to send the number to your phone through an Over The Air push.
It is usually under message menu. try under setting of this menu. Alternatively you can use one more method that will sound funny but works. Press and hold the No. 1 key and see which number it is dialing. If the voicemail is already set it will be shown to you, edit this from the phonebook to your desired number. If the Voicemail has not already been set you will be prompted to enter you the voicemail number. Fill in the desired number there.
