How to disassemble Little giant pump model#psm006?

thats why i like the little giant pumps they are put together with phillips screws not glued like them other guys , i do suggest that if you dissasemble pump and water has gotten inside , replace it not just seal it up and go , wont last long as that means the pump shaft seal has leaked , ther e has been a few folks that add dietary mineral oil to the inside , for use in very deep ponds (over 3 feet) they believe that helps keep the water out

Have a little giant 4-mdqx-sc that I bought used I plugged it up dry just to make sure it runs and it is making a horrible noise from the impellier not the motor will this go away when it is in line with...

yes it should go away, this is a magnetic drive pump so it needs water to lubricate the porcelain shaft, it's not good on it to run it dry for long period of time just a short time, these pump eventually wear and will need to be replaced. they seem to last 2-5 years .. and back pressure is not good, so if say running a fountain bleed off excess water do not use a valve to restrict flow.. this is how we get the 5 years instead of the 2 ! .. jay the pump guy longwood fl

Little Giant 554455 VCMA-20ULS 230V 20' My pump runs when the float is down low in the tank and comes off when the float is high in the tank. So it runs continuous. Has something gone wrong and...

Hi,
The float switch went bad... probably because of the water...you could replace it, but the parts are hard to get and with the time involved it will be easier and cheaper to replace it...

My little giant 554425 will not come on

Hi,
Either the float is stuck or the pump is stuck...
To release the float a good shot to the side of the pump is all that it will take....
If that does not work then a few screws and the top will come off.. the pump is a very simple spinner.. make sure ther is nothing jammed in there...
if that all checks out replace the unit, the motor is shot....
you should be able to find a new one at a HVAC supply house for around fifty bucks...or check www,grainger.com for a replacement condensate pump.

The VCMA-20ULS pump is not shutting off

These pumps have a float arm inside that tell the pump when to turn on and off, it sounds like your arm is stuck or broken. The top of the unit can be taken off of the reservoir to check for damage.

Good luck

Little Giant stopped working; makes hum noise but wont push wate

Can you take it out of where it is and clean it with vinegar? There may be calcium built up in it. I have one also on my aquarium and when I turn it off sometimes it won't start back up, just humms.. That tells me it's time to clean it.
