GE dishwasher GSD2200G00WW dishes not clean

Hi. Just within the past few weeks, my six year old dishwasher is not getting the dishes clean. I know it is not in how the dishes are loaded, as dishes on the bottom rack directly over the single spray arm are have a dirty film on the inside after the cycle is complete. Any suggestions?

We have suddenly stared having the same problem. Everything seems to be working but we are finding a film left on the dishes and spots of food on the glasses. We have totally removed the diswahser twice and made sure there is nothing plugging the drains, cleaned all the screens, etc. Would REALLY appreciate a solution!

My dishes are still coming out with food on them. Not sure what the problem is.

Make sure the spray arm is actually rotating and the jets aren't clogged. You should be able to hear the arm rotating when the dishwasher is operating.

Otherwise, perhaps the pump is plugged or not working and the water isn't "jetting"

Hi,
The pump seal may be the problem. There are a number of places on the net where you can get step by steps and the the parts to replace the seal. Some recommend just getting a new motor pump housing which is 150. I just purchased the impeller assembly (it has all you need) and it cost $25 with shipping. Only thing is I did not realize I also had a leak in the solenoid stem valve. Let me know if you need the link I was talking about.

13 years old?!? LOL, you're lucky it turns on!!!

Pop the sprayers off and check for clogs. Otherwise, get a new one, this machine is way, way, way past its life expectancy.

GE Dishwasher fills with water but does not "spray water" on dish

Here are a few things that might help you out, first is you could have a bad heating element in your dish washer, when it fills with water it has to reach a certain temperature before continuing to the next cycle, next thing is you could have a bad thermostat, or your timer is defective.

Not cleaning the dishes

You need to check your water temp after it enters the diswasher, it should be at least 120 deg when it get in the dishwasher. If it not then the detergent, food, and greese can't break down.

Top rack dishes are not clean

My Whirlpool dishwasher is only 2 years old and I started having the same problems. I dismantled everything I could and washed and scrubbed the entire unit with EVERYTHING..to no avail, dirty dishes!! But I discovered a remedy! Try using Lemi-Shine for about a week with your regular wash-soap. If you are using the tablet form of soap, stop and try the powdered form. Follow the instructions on the Lemi-Shine container. You can find it just about anywhere for around $3.50. I was within "5 seconds" of replacing my 2 year old Whirlpool dishwasher when this caught my eye and I figured why not try it too? After the first wash I noticed a big difference the cleanliness of the dishes..and now it is running GREAT after 2 weeks!
