Re: noise

Does your radio have a knob or switch which is marked as "SQEULCH" If it's a knob just rotate it until the noise stops and then just add a little bit more. It sounds like the squelch is acting a bit slow after you let the transmit button go. If it's a switch I'm afraid it means a trip to a technician for adjustment. BMW

One unit only receives a faint voice communication

Too bad you do not have a 3rd radio for testing. My best guess is you have a bad speaker. Speakers can fail for many reasons. The one I most often encounter is dirt in the grill. It packs in and simply stops the sound. Clean the grill area carefully if this is possible. If new radio, then the manufacturer may have a faulty part or poor installation. I have also seen a glob of glue on a speaker, also making it weak. If you can get a squelch noise, is it loud? If so, I have more ideas. If not, it is your speaker.

look in the battery compartment for a series of tiny switches under the batteries.. these switches must be identical for each radio..it puts them on the same frequency..then select channels with no interference..retry radios..

Fv150 walkie talkies won't communicate

Check your programming to be certain both radios are programmed identical, including frequency, code, and Qt filter if any. Go back to a very basic programming with all special features turned off and see if you can communicate. If not, then one of your radios may have a problem. The only way to discern which one is to put a 3rd radio in the mix and by process of elimination determine the culprit.

You'll have to take out the word dot and insert a "."

I have a yaesu ft-736r with no audio

Hi Jermaine,

It transmits, but no receive, are you sure, have you tried playing around with the volume control?

If, so did that make any crackling noise? If so, then this is due to lack of use of the volume control, many radios, including the old transistors with dials, would make crackling sounds when you adjusted the volume, and as I say, this is due to lack of use, So if this is the case and to get your receiving, turn the volume control up & down fully for a few minutes and while doing so your radio might receive a transmission that will be loud, quiet, loud, quiet, etc., as you play with the knob.

Keep doing so until all crackling has disapeared.

Do this often as possible when firing up your radio for the day, the more use these controls get, the better.

I hope this has answered your query.

Cheers,
Peter

When i try to talk on another motorola spirit mu21cv it makes a cracking/static sound and it transmits what im saying but i have to have it very loud for it to work and even then it makes a very loud...

Two things come to mind. First, you may have a bad battery. It is typical for a bad battery to cause the radio to have static, or poor transmit. Second, you may not have the radios set to the same frequency as one another, or one is on a narrowband frequency, and the other is wideband. (Depending on the age of the two units.)

Try switching the batteries between a working radio and the staticy radio. See if the problem moves to the other radio. If so, replace your batteries.

Check your programming, if you don't know how, contact your local Motorola dealer or give us a call (google our name). We can walk you through programming over the phone.

Lastly, if all these suggestions fail, your radio may be in need of repair. Flat rate repair is currently around $69 ea.

Best regards.

T5410 I press MON key and it doent make sounds

It sounds as though you have a broken speaker. Do you have a head phone/earphone jack on the unit. That would be a good test.
If it does have an earphone jack, they have been known to get trash in the jack, that in turn breaks the circuit to the speaker.

I get static after someone else talks

One of the main causes of static can be a bad battery. If you are using rechargeable batteries you need to replace them every 14-18 months. If you are using alkaline batteries, they have been known not to fully power the radio once your cross the 10 hour mark. Your radio would then be operating in somewhat of a brown out. This would lead to static.

Another cause of static is simply being nearly out of range of the other radio(s).

The burst of white noise at the end of Rx on some radios can be rather annoying. On the basic talkabout radios there is nothing which can be done to solve the problem, other than replacing the radio.
