Question about RCA RT2400R Receiver

1 Answer

RCA RT2400R Will Not Power On

I have a 5 year old RCA RT2400R that will not power on. The standby light is lit on the power button and there are no signs of burned up components inside the case. I have had it to two different repair shops and gotten two different answers. The authorized RCA place said the trouble was "bad solder" which was affected by heat. The other place said the problem is a faulty control processor.

Denon AVR-1908 won't power on

Are you getting a standby light at all? Is it flashing? Do you here a click when you plug the unit in? If the answer is no to all of these then you blew a fuse. If you do have soome sort of standby light, then your set is in protect mode. More than likely for a blown channel. If no lights, but you ar egetting a click, you could have a bad transformer. Use a DVM and see if it is open or not. Good luck

My Denon AVR-75 seems to stay in standby (red standby light is on) and I don'd get surround sound through it. How do I get it out of standby?

if the receiver does not power on from standby there is a problem like bad power supply or even bad macroprocessor. You need to bring it to a service center for diagnosing. 10-years old receiver, maybe better to buy new one.

I have a new rca receiver and have it hooked up to my dvd player which works fine. I have it hooked into my tv and Im not getting sesurround through my tv how can I connect to the tv to make it work my tv...

Take a clue from the 10-year old vintage of the TV and the two analog audio cables. It's Dolby Pro Logic Surround at best, not Dolby Surround in the modern, digital, multi-channel sense.

TV's are not the source nor the end of a multi-channel audio chain. Feed this thing a 2-channel source from a Cable Box (into the "TV" jacks), DVD, Video Tape or CD with proper Dolby Surround encoding and will seem to open up the sound field a bit and kick in a little surround effect. It can also simulate a Hall effect and Dolby 3 stereo.

No Power, Will not turn on.

It depends on a model of the receiver. If there is no any lights check standby power supply. You can find it by looking for a small transformer (1" by 1" approx.). Standby power supply usually provide 5 volts ( sometimes 9v or 12v). Look at connectors close to standby power supply which has a pins marked as 5STBY or STB5V etc and check voltages. If there is no standby voltage repair that power supply
