My monitor runs for anything up to 30 mins then goes blank. Swithching off and on again brings back the picture for 2 seconds brfore going blank again. If I leave the monitor off for a while I get another 30 min stint. It is nothing to do with the computer as I have switched monitors and computers but the problem stays with the belinea. Any solutions?

    my lcd mnitor not working

i.e no input signal is there

    so i can do

  • msrayke Jan 13, 2009

I boot the system and the monitor immediately goes blank. I turn the monitor off and turn it back on and the picture is displayed or 10 seconds and then goes blank. I have checked all connections, cleaned the contacts on the memory board. I have tried F8 and it the system does go to safe mode but the monitor shuts down. I have tried the monitor on a different system and it works fine. The system is a E Machine and the monitor is a 19" flat panel. It was working fine until I **** it down to install a new printer, I am out of ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check ur sleep timer program for monitor most are defult 30min, or 60 min, turn it off .try unpluging monitor when it heppens then pluging it back in.also when u change computer u had same problem mite be windows changed settings ,u could hookup to as many computers as u want same thing will happen if you are runing windows vista or xp ,monitors are smart now the talk to your computer its not like the old vga days when on was on off was off .that said check setings in control panel for power options setting , change settings to turn off monitor after 2 hours turn off harddrive to never and system standby to never, also change windows screensaver to 75 min,. Then go into settings program for monitor (the buttons on front of thr monitor) change to manual. turn off monitor sleep mode and or standby mode. You allso mite check driver for ur monitor in windows defult dose not work all the time.seeing you seem to be handy look at the svga or dfi plugs on monitor make shure the are clean a crusty dusty plug can make the signal from computer or monitor too week over a few min, of time. also is vga card and computer clean of dust.

Hmmm, sleep/suspend mode is only supposed to happen when it doesn't sense any movement from the mouse, it also shouldn't suspend if you are in full-screen either. So if you are playing a game that shouldn't happen at all... as a test you should put the "turn off the display" to "never" and see if it still happens.
I have this happen when watching Netflix, if I don't move the mouse my TV will go into suspend mode, even though I am in full screen... I think my issue however is related to the fact that I am using HDMI to connect to my TV from my computer... I have not solved this issue yet!

Monitor is sleep mode how do i get it out of sleep mode it says going to sleep

You can move the mouse or press the keyboard keys.

If this happens in the middle of using the computer than either your video card drivers are damaged, video card is damaged, monitor is failing, connection (wire) to the monitor is damaged or not connected correctly.

Hello: Just recently, the 2159m HP monitor goes to sleep in the middle of an activity. This happened on two desktops and different settings. Repalced the video card, adjusted settings, replsced DVI...

Check the cord and connections for the monitor; this has one wire that must have voltage on it or the monitor goes to sleep, and a broken wire or loose connection will fool it into thinking you are powering down. If this doesn't work try going into power options and setting monitor to never power down.

trixieb1, It's NOT going to sleep mode. Use warranty if possible!! If that not option you will need to read about "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" and the voltage inverters that power them. Learn to do flashlight test when screen goes to black or blank n black!!! Read my fixya profile and those of other ccfl back-lit lcd monitor technicians. We already know what is wrong with your unit. And It is a VERY big problem for all LCD monitor manufacturers. Just do some reading before you do anything else. Good luck with the repair. 12fixlouie

Sorry it IS the monitor this is a common problem, unfortunately, this is evidenced by the fact it still didn't work when connected to another machine, regardless of lack or message. Do a warranty claim.

Monitor goes into Sleep Mode immediatly upon turning on computer

Ok. I think "sleep mode" means that your monitor might not have a tight connection. Tighten all connections. Also, push the power button on your tower. When you gegt back, go to screensaver- power settings- and from there you can adjust.
