I upgraded from 2 gig to 4 gig using crucial memory.  This is the new 13" aluminum macbook, and it randomly freezes the whole system evidenced by the mouse freezing, keyboard freezing.  You must power the system off manually and then restart.  I spoke with crucial and they said this is a flaw in what they believe is the firmware.  The only solution so far is to remove the memory upgrade and go back to 2 gig original.  This is unsatisfactory as I use vm ware and heavy photo import and stitching programs.  I brought the system to the apple store, they tested it and said it was fine.  Obviously not as it froze immediately after returning home.  Apple should at least recognize the problem and advise the users to either be patient as a fix is in the works, replace the computer with one that works, and or advise whether we should return the memory to crucial for a refund and wait for a fix.  They should if this is the case offer users a free memory upgrade once the problem is resolved.  This problem and lack of full acknowledgement by Apple for a high end product such as the macbook aluminum is unacceptable, and not fair to the loyal user base.  We have two mac minis in our house, two white macbooks, the aluminum macbook, as well as three iphones.  With an overall investment of over $6,000 I feel we deserve an acknowledgment and resolution from Apple.

Macbook alluminium 13 inch 2.4 with 4 gb ram upgrade.
Macbook randomly freezes, and makes a noise and screen gets lines across it, no keyboard , commands or track pad response, poweroff button hold down restart is the only way out.

Problem doesnt show up on tests.

Is there clicking? Usually when this happens it means the harddrive is on the way out. I would back up or transfer your files while you can.

The pointer jumping on the screen sounds like you may have picked up a virus. While rare, there are mac viruses. I would try to save all my data documents and any other valuable personal files or lists, then do a clean reinstall of the operating system. Then load our documents back in.
You could try to scan for a virus with a mac virus program, but not many are available for a G4 Power PC (PPC) machine.

When I type on my keyboard, the pointer skips around. I can be typing on one line and all of a sudden, the typing is in another place.

hello, This happens because you are landing some part your hand (palm) in the touch-pad when you typing. which activates the touch-pad and makes sudden movements in the pointer.
This problems for lot of laptop users, unless you can get use to prevent the hand from touching the touch-pad, the only option is getting a USB keyboard where you can plug in without any drivers and type without any trouble.
