Most LCD tv's having a lot of bad caps in the power supply ,that makes for really weird things happen, since they work like a computer during boot. For that 2-3 second "boot" the processor in the set checks for a combination of things and if those caps go bad in the supply the set will show a wide variety of symptoms. Usually the set won't start for a minute or two and sometimes longer, after that comes some weird things like lines and what not and the set finally just won't come on period. I could write a book about how simple fix like changing a few caps causes all kinds of phenomena..lol
Hi. Were you able to get this remote working again? I am going to suggest you try a firmware update, since you didnt mention that you had tried that. I find that usually solves weird problems like this one. You can do that by going through the following steps:
1. Connect your remote to the computer. 2. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in. 3. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware" 4. The remote will go through the firmware update. 5. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote.

check to be sure your remote is sending IR signal, with
a smart phone camera hold remote IR eye in front of camera and click any buttons on remote, you should see
a light coming from IR eye. If no light emitting, remote needs to be replaced.
Well your car radio should have a Blue wire with a white stripe for the remote, in case you are interested in the user manual (wich im guessing you dont have)
Go to: http://www.nodevice.com/user_manual/pioneer/car_audio/deh-p5500mp.html
it has a diagram of the harness and it shows a blue/white remote wire, so im guessing that you bought it used and probably got a different harness with your car radio... but then again thats too weird
you could do a check to see if thats really the problem... just feed 12V From the power terminal of your amp to the remote terminal, that should turn your amp on and you should be able to listen to your car radio's output (id suggest not setting the volume all the way up when doing this XD)
LOL, optical eye? OK, that’s the problem, there is no such part. However, you did not say if any other buttons were working on your remote, ie ch up and down, input, power on and off, ect. If so, it will not be your remote. If you the volume is not working, check you menu setup, under the audio setup. If no remote functions are work, you can try the inferred Receiver. Its only about 20.00 to replace and can be found at most part stores.Cheaper if you change only the IR block itself. TV tech
The factury remote that came
with my 20" Advent lost many of it's functions. I recently purchased
the Phillips Remote SRU4105WM/17 and it works perfectly with the Advent
