IF you take out your SD card and look close, you will see a lock like the one in the image below. Slide the latch to the position marked unlock to unlock it

Downloading jpg images sent me thru e-mail; forwarding jpg images I receive

HI AnneC,

It is highly possible your Internet Cache an cookies are bogging your internet files saving and caching down.
  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click tools
  3. Select options
  4. Set your History to 2 days
  5. Delete Files, Cookies, History, offline files
  6. Click ok a few times.
I hope this helps you get your downloads working better. Also run Disk Cleanup. Delete all unused ICONs. Empty your recycle bin. Update you Virus protection. Run a Antivirus/Spyware check

This should help. It sounds like it is a general slowdown of the internet. Spyware could be the cause. I hope this helps. If you already done this, please post back to let me know.

I have a Kodak Easy Share C182 . I want to delete some pictures and it tells me to remove protection to delete, and it also tells me image is protected please tellmje stepby step how to clear this...

The most common cause for telling you that the card is locked is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position.
- see photo below:
Set the lock slider to locked or unlocked.man-3ds-sdcardlockswitch-287-181.png
  • The down position will enable write-protection, locking the card.
  • The up position will unlock the card, enabling you to save and erase data on the card

How to delete a protected image from SD card

If the card is locked, unlock it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

If the image is locked, cancel its protection. While viewing the image, press FUNC/SET to toggle the protection.

"Card Write Protected" has come up on my Cannon 450D and I am unable to remove it - any help much appreciated. Cheers.

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

I downloaded some pictures to my school computer and now my camera won't take any pictures. Message is Memory card write protected.

If that doesn't work, try another card.

Cannot delete images in the camera.

Check the card and see that the little slide switch on the side is moved to the unlock or clear position. You try to delete images off another card to see if it is the camera that is defective. Is it still under warranty?

UPLOADING PICTURES

As you have probably noticed it is not possible to load a picture to the camera by just opening up the camera in MyComputer and dragging the files (FUJI - why?).

Connect the camera to the PC and switch it on.

Open FinePixViewer as soon as you click on one of the photos, on the right hand panel, the Image Utilization tab expands to "Save image to the camera (PTP)". Click on this to send the selected images to the camera.

One word of caution the camera only seems to be able to display the photos it took. Downloading a JPG from the web resulted in my camera locking up with READ ERROR. No help in the manual but I was able to recover by using FinePixViewer to delete the offending JPG from the camera.
In fact I backed up and deleted all the stored photos to my PC. I then deleted the new one and reloaded them back to the camera. Once again thank you FUJI (but I must add a fantastic little camera).

Good luck.
