Starts then cuts off and won't restart

starter or crankshaft take it to auto zone and pull codes that will tell u the problem

check for spark when it doesn't start the coil could be bad

Check the electronics,cam sensor or crank sensor these are the culprits.

The first thing that must be done is to have the engine control computer scanned for fault codes to help diagnose this stall condition, all repairs are based on what shows up (or doesn't show up).

How long does it sit before trying to restart when it fails?

sounds like either the starter solenoid is dying or a bad connection at the battery

i'me asumeing the batt is ok....turn on lights, do they dim when you try to start engine? if not .bad selonoid on new starter..was it rebuilt? it happens. Billy Starr

I had the same problem, had the crank sensor replaced and problem went away.

My suspicion is a starter going bad. Sometimes when starters get old and worn they will start good when the engine is cold but not when the engine is warmed up. Did you perhaps notice that lately is seemed to drag when you tried starting, especially warm or it seemed to crank a little slower? I'd replace the starter. Hope this helps.

Check the gas and gas tank, you might have water in the gas.
