Sorry, but your older camera can only use 2GB or less standard SD cards. Fortunately, these are relatively inexpensive these days, and may be found on Amazon, if your local store no longer carries them.

My camera is saying memory full with a new sd card in. why?

The Samsung NV3 can only use standard SD memory cards up to 2GB. I'm guessing that your new card is a 4GB SDHC card, which the camera is not capable of recognizing. Fortunately, 2GB SD cards are relatively inexpensive these days, and are widely available on Amazon (see this link) if your local store no longer carries them.

Hello there! I have a Sumsung camera NV3, i have changed the memory card with a brand new one " Kingiston" however it keeps on giving me a memory full message. can you please help?...

Try this....with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"....follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory of the camera. Then, insert your new card and do the "format" thing again to optimize the card for the camera. Then, all should work properly.

Camera will not format sd card nor does it show a card in the camera

Something tells me that you're trying to use a brand new 4GB SDHC card. If so, your camera was designed before SDHC format came out. You'll need to use standard SD cards, those 2gb or less. Search on Amazon for "SD card 2GB". They run about 6 to 7 dollars total with shipping.
For others with similar problems, There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Other causes include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

I have a samsung nv3 camerea , i added a new blank memory card but camera says memory full and cannot take pictures

It may be telling you that the internal memory is full. You must get rid of anything in there. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your new card and do the "format" thing again.

Hi, I have a Samsung NV3 camera, I have installed a new 4 GB memory card but it is showing memory full. Is there and internal memory on the camera that is full that requires deleting? many thanks

I've tried to download a manual for this camera to give you the most accurate answer possible, however after a few minutes of frustration I'm going to answer this sort of "off the top of my head so to speak" My first impression is that the 4GB memory card my be beyond your cameras capabilities but first try this. Have you checked the memory card to make sure it's not locked I'll include a diagram check the small circle for the correct orientation the arrow shows the lock position.

Once you have made sure the card is unlocked install the memory card and then format the card. Formatting "programs and new card to work with the camera it has been installed into. Also Formatting should be done after each download of pictures to the computer hard drive. In this case formatting cleanse the old pictures off and programs the card once again to give optimum performance between the camera and memory card. If this still doesn't work then I suspect the 4GB card is to large for the camera "firmware and you will need to update your camera on the Samsung web site to a newer version of firmware. Sounds complicated but heck i did it so it's not all that technical. Also the memory card you are replacing may only need to be formatted to begin to work properly again (that's if you were having problems)

Sdhc card used in samsung nv3 it says memory full

I don't think that camera (the Samsung NV3) takes SDHC cards. The same is true of many (perhaps most) cameras that were released more than a year or two ago.

You need to use a regular SD card, which -- as you probably know -- isn't any bigger than 2G.

I put a new memory card in the camera and it says

You need to eliminate the pics from the internal memory. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your card and do the "format" thing again for the card. Everything should be normal now.

SD cards

Do the 4GB Cards say SDHC on them? They should. SDHC is simply "Secure Digital High Capacity". They're high capacity SD cards that hold more than regular cards. In this case, 4GB. The problem with these is that they need to be supported by the device. I've never put an SDHC card into a device that doesn't support them, but it looks like that's what your situation is. The highest memory capacity a non-SDHC compliant device is capable of 2GB. I recommend that you return the 4GB cards and buy 2GB cards instead.
