I had a tape jam and had to send it to a service center (Pro Tech Service Co, Idaho Falls). They got the tape out, cleaned it, and aligned the heads.

Sony mhc-2600 tape stuck

The tape has spewed out in the mechanical section preventing the door from opening, some outer doors can be removed by too thumb screws sliding up and out, others are held in by plastic clips, the door may have to be pried open to get the outer door off to remove the tape.

Cassette tape has jammed inside while playing, and the cassette door will not open...suggestions of how to open the door - without dismantling / destroying the unit - much appreciated. Thanks.

This is a messy situation - I've had a few. The best thing to do really is take it to a repairers where they will be able to retrieve your cassette without damage to it or the deck.

I don't have the manual. I placed a tape in the deck and cannot remove it. Help!!! It has happened before, and suddenly I will be able to remove it, and then it will happen again. I'm not...

pry on the tape deck cover with a thin knife and see if it opens...what happen is that your tape deck eat up the tape with the spindle this is due to the fact that the head and the spindle and the pinch roller is dirty.to clean these parts trick the deck as if it has in a tape.do this by when you open the cover push down the lever at the bottom of the tape rest in the tape deck when you have remove your tape. at the same time press play it will start to spin take a cotton swab dip into alcohol press it on the pinch roller until it is clean also apply it to the head. after cleaning you are good to go your tape will stop stuck until the head and pinch roller gets dirty again. good luck.

How do I thread the tape on an Akai GX210D reel to reel tape deck?

When facing the deck, the feed reel goes on the left and the take-up reel goes on the right. Make sure to secure each reel by engaging the reel locks on each of the spindles. Place the feed reel with the free end of the tape on the left and hanging downwards (like the letter "P"). Pass the tape to the right of the tension spindle (which is above and to the left of the play/record heads unit. Pull the tape down and pass it underneath the heads from left to right. Then on the right hand side of the heads unit pass the tape between the guide wheel and the first guide spindle to its left and just above. Then pass the tape over the top of the second guide spindle. Finally, loop the tape under the right hand tension spindle and pull it up and feed onto the take-up reel from the right in an anticlockwise direction (like the letter "g"). Once you have it through the slot in the centre of the reel, hold the tape end there with your finger and wind the reel around a few times to hold the tape in place and ... Voila!

Dubbling cassette tapes

After looking @ the owner's manual online, I can see why you're confused. Man! It shouldn't that tough. You can always tell when the Chinese translate anything into English. If look you closely enough on pages 18 & 19, whenever the directions refer to "manual recording" one of functions that they don't specify is the recording of 1 tape onto another. The way that this manual was written the writer apparently didn't envision that anyone would want to do tape-to-tape (dubbing) recording.

On pg 18 it says to load a recordable (blank) tape into the B side deck. Easy enough. Next comes the tough to discern part.
In section 2 where it mentions "For Manual Recording and Sound Mixing:" Select the desired source to record or mix. In your case that would be the A deck. Here is where they needed to take a little time and explain that tape-to-tape recording is one of those possibilities. Notice that you'll need to place the B deck in standby. Then select the REC PAUSE/START to start the B deck & then (this is another place where they needed to be more clear) you'll need to simultaneously start (press the play button) the A deck which would be the recording source. In the future just remember that the A deck is the source and the B deck is the destination.

Good luck.

A. REAL SPEAKER CONNECTION B. CASSETT RECORDER NOT ENGAGING

A Real Speaker Jacks..
There should be a switch position on your system that you move to allow the sound to come out to standard speaker configuration or to multiple speaker configuration.
This switch may be on the front or rear panel.

Please have alook to see if its there....
Its possible the these Real speaker jacks are not wired to anything inside the amp system, and are there for use on a different model where the selector switch is supplied.

B Cassett Deck..
The clicking is caused by the motor trying to drive the wheels that turn the cassett tape.
It sounds like something is jamming the internal drive mechanism.
The drive belt may have come off or is stretched and is slipping.

Have a good look inside the front slot and you may see one of these items described above happening..

It may have to be serviced at a workshop.

Cheers From YUBEUT.

Tape deck does nothing when play is pressed

Maybe a problem of no power to motor. I own 2 identical Aiwa units, both have tape deck problems. This brand is prone to them They also have nasty habit of tape cassette doors jamming.
1st off you never said how old the unit is. Awia have huge amount of models. Mine are the NX series that came out in black plastic. Most of the others are silver/grey. Honestly, unless you pop side screws and lift the cover off to eyeball anything loose. and none is? And if out of warrenty, the value of fix, mat exceed value of unit.
Sorry, but I see many of these,  of 4-5 yr old units Aiwa brand,
get the heave ho!
The most stupid thing about this is: for units size, has the best sound of any other brand it's size.. Brilliant for hooking to ones TV sets, for  surround sound!
What I did was get an older getto blaster  that plays tapes to play my tapes on. some of these units are around and in good order, dirt cheap. And most electronic equipment problems cost at least $35  just to have a quick look at your unit.. cost of repair on top?  I brought my 1st one new @ well over a grond. 3 yrs later, 2ns one, exactly the same $15.00 in a charity shop. The  laser unit was dusty. All go in half an hr. Perhaps if it is an older model , look for another mate to it,   It all comes down to costs.
Which is better option... you are the one who has to made the choice. Good luck. Jamz

Clicking sound in tape deck

All Aiwas  are prone to this problem.  The doors are a real pain and easily give up the ghost.  I have 2, both probmatic in this direction.
I have spoken to others about this problem. Seems no easy fix.
Have you in your case, tried leaving and old tape in the tape part of your  unit . The noise you hear, usually starts when tape unit area doors are about to pack a wobbly. Unless under warrenty, proberly,
not worth getting fixed.    It seems something gets weak in the activation part and get a mind of its own.  Very common after about 3 yrs of ownership.  All the best: jamz
