Okay, do this.

On the top of the t.v. itself, hold down the Volume+ (up) and the Menu button down at the same time. This will turn off the "power lock." This is also how you turn on the "power lock." (Though I can't think of a reason anyone would ever want to do this.)

I have the same problem with mine. Walk up to your TV, press and hold the power button on the front of the set. While holding this button, press the power button on the remote.

Mine behaves this way on all functions. Even to change the channel, volume or input (among other things) I have to press and hold the power button on the set. Very annoying. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who might have had this problem and found a solution for it. Viewsonic support isn't qualified to troubleshoot these kinds of technical issues.

I have Onida TV Model 21 inch , I accidentally enable the features of volume lock, hotel mode and channel lock and I cannot reset the same. Due to this, I cannot increase volume of telivision

MIGHT WORK IF YOU:
Turn off tv with remote, that is standby, then turn off tv with switch or unplug from wall. Wait a few minutes until led lights go off on tv. plug tv back in. try pushing vt on remote and power button on tv at same time.
If this doesn't work try contacting a local retailer, they always have a list of codes for their salesmen.

Hello,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the TV there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.

I hope this will help in solving the problem.....

My viewsonic tv will not turn off with the remote or the power button. i have to switch it off at the wall. it is displaying message power lock enable.

Try disabling the lock by pressing and holding [1] (menu) and the down arrow on the front panel for 10 seconds or so. This toggles the power lock on and off for several Viewsonic monitors.

I hope this helps.

Power lock enable

To get rid of the power button enable you need to either press and hold the power button on the tv ( not on the remote control pad) for approx 15 seconds or if that does not work do the same using the source button
