full strings (long) take power to run and if there is a problem with the carby ( blockage or diaphragm) then that extra power required will be shown as a shortage of fuel if the carby is not up to it

I found this solution on the net. I hope it helps.
Unscrew cap and remove. Remove line guide ring. Note which way to put
line guide ring back on, slot to outer edge. Remove the empty spool.
Don't take spool apart unless you need to get inside to remove string.
The outer half should be yellow. Cut 25 ft. of .065 line. Start pushing
the line inside the spool from the center making sure the string is
winding inside in a counter clock direction which should be shown on the
spool. Keep pushing until there is about only 6 in. left.
Replace spool. Then the line guide ring, making sure to pull the string
through the middle of it. Then hold the string on the slot in the ring
while replacing the cap.
you need to locate the black knob at the trimmer head and turn it coun ter clockwise and remove it to access your string spool you may have to chase the knob with pliers because some are more than hand tight
follow arrow on the spool for line winding direction
Cut two pieces of 18" commercial grade line - one to mount on each side. Look at the series of holes, two on bottom of rotating head, two immediately above but on outer lip of plate. Go up through the bottom two holes, even up your piece of line (like when you are putting in a new shoe string in a pair of shoes) and cross over then out through the top two. All done. If you are using an adequate grade of commercial line you can trim for hours over the roughest of stuff without worrying about restringing.
