Why does my tacoma fan coil make a roaring noise

If the fan is connected to the water pump, it could be a fan clutch problem. The clutch is not supposed to kick in unless the engine is hot.

Hi, My Lenovo Y510 is over heating, this is impacting on the performance/lag of the notebook. By using a cooling pad, will this regulate the temperature. Regards Jay

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a can of compressed air to do this.

The coolin fan comes on constanly after short/long journeys and over runs for long periods after switching off engine

I had this problem with my old Dell laptop to the point of then it would overheat while using and make all of my pages lag. I thought I needed a new computer, but found out I simply had to clean the fan and all of the little vents in the computer....they were filthy! And I was a smoker at the time so it was xtra bad. I got a little can of air, sprayed it all over and it worked like new!

Another option might be that you need a new fan....but if you are using a laptop, you might need to get a cooling pad for it cause the batteries have a tendency to really overheat especially on older units. They are under $20 and available at Walmart, Best Buy, Target, etc....easy to find.

Hope this helps.

I have a roaring sound when i start the envoy what can it be? when I put it in neutral the noise goes away and too if i have been driving it for awile the noise goes away it only roars when I start it...

That's the fan clutch for the radiator fan. It has a thick fluid in it and in this cold weather it is ispecially thick. This makes the fan turn almost at engines speed and that makes the roaring noise. After it has been spinning a while, the fluid gets warm and gets thinner. that makes the fan turn slower than the engine. This is normal and needs no attention.

I own a 06 chevrolet 4wd. it makes an awful roaring noise

There is a bearing, somehwere that is the most likely cause.

Does anything alter the sound, accelleration, decell, moderate turning (thinking to unload one side and load the other side of the vehicle)?

My vote would be for a bearing, and they are hard to tell until you tear the offending bearing apart...

Overheating at idle

sounds like a partially plugged radiator. Colder temps will be OK but when weather warms up the problem shows up too...check for leaves etc between the radiator and ac condenser before doing anything else. Stuff on the outside will act the same way as an internal obstruction.

P5E3 motherboard, wn XP lagging, USB lagging

Hi csoda,
I have not come across anyone having this issue with the Asus P5E3 deluxe motherboard but have had others with same troubles as you different boards & system configurations.
No issue with Asus & the quad 9450. You can read FAQ’s for you're Asus board at this link. (Look to the left under Related Link). http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=P5E3%20DELUXE&SLanguage=en-us

System lag & system reboots seems more related to software issues but can also include some hardware devices including the CPU overheat. CPU overheat usually shuts down the system not restarts. (Check CPU fan. Clean fan if dusty with clean paint brush & canned air).
In pc repair finding the problem for software is often long & difficult. Suggest you update you're antivirus software. Than run full systems scan. (Just to be safe). You can disable system restarts through system properties/advanced/startup and recovery/settings. Remove the check mark next to automatically restart. If you're lucky windows will display the error for restarting windows. I would suggest format & complete fresh install of windows. All the issues have two things in common. Window & the primary hard disk drive. If you are up to it, you can download the hard disk drive's software tools/utilities & setup software from the manufacture’s web site. Most Mfg's provide software utilities to allow you to create either a bootable floppy disk or bootable CD disk so you can check the drive's stability. The software can check for error's & repair any if found. You also can setup other features that can not be done with windows or the bios. You can set up cluster size & format type just to name a couple. Since windows is still working, suggest you back up to CD (If you have a burner) or to a memory stick, you're personal data. If the Mfg's tools/utilities finds a problem it will fix it & you are sure to loose you're data.
Lastly, there are also windows systems defrag & windows disk cleanup utility. That may help with lag but not with keyboard (try swapping the keyboard). Sound skipping is more related to disk performance or corrupted song.

Good Luck csoda!

Mike

Troublestarting up machine...big time Fan roars constantly

Hi,

Which fan?
Is the machine booting up finally?

There are two basic fans. One over your processor and one inyour power supply. When theiry are worn out they roar with vibration, especially when starting cold. Once they warm up they expand and quieten down. The best thing is to check and change a roaring fan, and also make sure it's not rubbing against wires, which also causes loud buzzing and roaring.

Let us know, okay
