Remove both cartridges, switch off printer and then on. After cartridge holder comes to the center install both the cartridges. Then it will print the Alignment page. After alignment page prints place the Alignment page on to the scanner and press SCAN button as mentioned in the Alignment page. After completing the scan try printing. It will print the usual speed. Note: For the alignment process both cartridges should in good working state
Try to reseat the cartridges into the printer. If problem continues, then maybe the cartridge nozzles need cleaning. Follow the simple steps below on how to clean the cartridge nozzles on the Lexmark X3350:
Go to Start, Programs (Windows XP: All Programs) > Lexmark 3300 Series > Lexmark Solution Center.
Click the Maintenance tab.
Click Clean to fix horizontal streaks.
Click Print. A cleaning page prints, forcing ink through the clogged nozzles to clean them.
Print the document again to verify that the print quality has improved.
This may be a cartridge misalignment issue. First try printing with the settings changed to black and white print only. If this does not work then print in fast or draft mode (this should print in a single pass with less ink. Normal or best quality is usually done by passing the cartridges over the line twice.
Run the cartridge alignment test and see if it can be correctly aligned.
It could also be that the belt that moves the cartridge holder is loose and so two passes of the print head are misaligned. This may not be repairable (at least not economically).
On your computer, go to "Start," "Programs," "Lexmark Series." Click "Lexmark Control Program."
the "Cartridges" tab. Click "Change Cartridges." The Change Cartridges
screen appears, displaying the animated instructions for installing or
changing cartridges. When you have finished viewing the animation,
click the "Finished" button.
Remove the tape covering the print head of the new print cartridge. Insert the new print cartridge as shown in the animation.
the "Choose Cartridges" screen appears, select the cartridge(s) you
installed in your printer from the list boxes. Click the appropriate
box to reset the ink levels to full. Click "OK."
Automatic Alignment screen appears. Click "Align" to align the print
cartridges for best print quality. The printer prints a page with a
bi-directional alignment pattern. On the printed test page, locate the
number that comes closest to forming a straight line under the
bi-directional alignment pattern. Enter that number as the
bi-directional alignment setting in the Alignment Cartridge dialog box.
You need to reset the ink level before the printer can print further, to do these please follow the following step: 1) Goto the Lexmark Solution Center application. 2) Press button Maintenance>Install a new print cartridge, follow the instruction on screen. U may then have your new full ink level. Note: u only can reset to full level, cannot customize the level by your own. Then try again with printing alignment task. Hope this help.
Depending on which cartridges you are using and which printer model you have, select Install Color Cartridge or Install Black Cartridge or Install Photo Cartridge.
Carefully remove the tape covering the printhead of the print cartridge. Important: Be sure to remove all of the tape. Do not touch the copper area on the back of the cartridge.
Insert the print cartridge into the print cartridge carrier.
Push the cartridge back until it clicks into place.
If the print cartridge moves loosely in the carrier, it is not locked into place. Repeat step 7.
Click the appropriate Cartridge Installed option in the printer software.
If you choose to install a new print cartridge, you will be prompted to align your print cartridges. The printer will print a page with a bi-directional alignment pattern. Follow these steps to align the cartridges:
On the printed test page, locate the number under the Bi-directional Alignment pattern that comes closest to forming a straight line.
Enter the number as the Bi-directional Alignment setting in the Alignment Cartridge screen.
Try to make a photocopy first from the printer itself, if it can print faster then the problem is on the computer,if not then follow the steps below:
Clean the printheads, clean the nozzles, if it still print slowly, remove the cartridges and clean the nozzles. If these steps does not resolved the problem then try changing the cartridges, maybe there's something wrong with the cartridges itself. After changing the cartridges, try to print again, and if its still the same then just post it here and ill try to find another solution for you.
