Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall
the software program. When the program asks you to connect the
camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud
In the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to update the driver see if this helps
if that does'nt help you can do a winupdate
before you try to reinstall make sure its removed from add remove in control panel
unplug the cam restart pc and run software don't plug in cam until instructed
if you still have a prob then
The problem was that I used a USBextension cable to connect my Philips SPC620NC webcam to the USB port on computer. Apparently, the signal strength was not enough to handle the longer cable, and the software was not able to perform the proper recognition and establish the stable picture. Once is a while the single frame would make it through, but that was all.
By re-positioning the camera closer to the computer and connecting it directly to the USB port using the only short cable provided with the camera, the problem was solved.

How much memory do you have installed in your
computer? It may need to be, increased, as this is likely to be the cause
of your computer freezing, rebooting, or shutting down.
Hope this is of some help. Bud
