How have you tried to change it. right click on the desktop and chose properties.... last tab and your settings are there... if the slider won't move your video card and or monitor will not support it. consider upgrading the driver for your video.

Hp pavilion a257c screen freezes up must click on scroll bar to unfreeze faster, constant error messages " not enough quota to perform that task

Sounds like there is not enough real memory and maybe not enough virtual memory. The real memory will require adding more RAM. Std is 512MB and the brochure says it has XP. My recommendation has always been to have 762MB and you system can be upgraded to 1GB which I would recommend based on your problem.

For the virtual memory, follow these instructions:

Right click on My Computer
select properties.
On this screen select Advanced
Click the Settings button in the Performance section
Click the Advanced tab on the Performance Options screen
Click the change button
On the Virtual Memory screen, check if it is set to System Managed size. If so, select custom and increase the size from what it is currently. For example, if it is set to 512MB set it to 1024MB.
If it is set to custom, try setting it to System managed size.
You will need to reboot after making the change.

Good luck, Jim

Increase my font size

You did not specify your operating system.
For Windows XP
Go into your Control Panel by first clicking on the Start Button.
Then click on the Control Panel icon located in the right column of the Start Menu.
If your Start Menu is set to the Classic View, then begin by clicking on the Start Button.
Then click on Settings, then click on the Control Panel icon to open up the Control Panel.
Now, Double click on the Display icon to open up the Display Properties Window.
Then click on the Appearance tab at the top of the screen.
At the bottom left side of the screen you will see an area to change the Font Size:
Use your mouse to switch between normal, large and extra large according to your preference.
Then click on the OK button to save your changes and exit Display Properties window.
Windows XP will immediately adjust to your new Font Size without restarting your system.
Then close the Control Panel to return back to your Windows Session.

My display resolutin is too small, thatswy my screen shows very small as compared to monitor size....!! what can i do? the H size and V size is correct..!!

You probably know about adjusting the monitor display size by right clicking on a blank area of the desktop, choosing properties, settings and moving the slider towards the left. 800x600 will make everything very large. (XP instructions)

You can also get there via the control panel, display, settings.

While on that page, you can click appearance and change icon size.

Installed windows xp disk with a scratch and now wont boot up

If you have the Windows Key/License for the XP disk you can use someone else's copy of the XP disk or call Microsoft and ask for a replacement. You need the license and it must not have been installed on another PC previously.

If the problem concerns the monitor settings instead, unplug monitor from power for two minutes to reset it.

The font size on my HP Pavillion N5445 is too large. When checking the text size, it is already on smallest and is still too large.

Are all fonts too large or just icon fonts?

You could reset the screen to a higher resolution. Please note that everything will appear smaller including webpages and desktop icons.
Click Start\Settings\Control Panel
Then Click Display
When the box opens click Settings
When the new window opens you will see an adjustment called "Screen resolution" and a slider marked 'more' at one end and 'less' at the other.
Most modern monitors are set to 1024 by 768 pixels or above. Try moving your slider to a higher setting then click Apply\Ok
