Hi,

So the password can be reset with a button combination made on your controller, but that sequence can only be given by the people at Microsoft Technical Support. Write down the serial number of the Xbox (find that on a sticker on the back of the machine), and call 1-800-4MYXBOX.

They will likely ask you several questions about who plays it, gamertags, billing address, and so on, but they will then walk you through how to reset the password. I can't give you what that password is, as everyone has a different one depending on the serial number of the console.

Good luck!

I had the same problem. I called 1-800-4myxbox and here's what they had me do. I went into Console Settings, then Initial Setup, go thru the steps until a screen comes up that has the serial number on it. It doesn't look like a screen that would reset or set up a password. Using the controller- Pull the left trigger, then the right trigger, then hit X then hit Y, then hit the left bumper and the right bumper. It has to be done very quickly and I had to do it about three times to get it right but the lady stayed on the phone with me and it worked. I was then able to choose not to have a password at all on there- which that part surprised the woman - she thought I would have to put in a new password.

You really should be more specific and clarify what the issue is.
-Correct product
-What is the issue
-How did the issue appear
-Did it work before, or has it never worked

But if you mean Parental controls, you should refer to the site:

Parental Control Override Code:
Go to Settings
Highlight Parental Control
When the screen pops up that says Enter Pass Code press: X, Y, Left Trigger, X
You'll be taken to the parental controls screen where you can disable the password previously entered -

If this does not work, Contact Xbox support (800) 469-9269

Parental control is blocking me from downloading content.

HI,

If you did not create a Live account that is not over 18 years old, it is unfortunately impossible to COMPLETELY remove the parental controls on the Xbox, however, it is possible to almost completely turn them off. If you have access to the 'parent' account of the child's account on the Xbox 360 and you have your own Xbox Live Gamertag, you can login using your Windows Live account on Xbox.com and change parental control settings.

If the "Child" account has reached the age of 18, then you need to sign into the "Parent" account and follow these steps to convert the account to an "Adult" account:

  • Go to My Xbox, and open your profile.
  • Select Manage Account.
  • Select Promote Child Account.
  • Follow the required steps.

If the "Child" account is NOT atleast 18 years old then this is how to modify the Parental Control settings (Note: You can NOT completely disable Parental Controls, games that have ratings above the neccesary age can NOT be downloaded on the "Child"account):

  • Sign in using the "Child" account's Live email address and password.
  • Click on the gamertag in the upper right hand corner of the site.
  • Click the Manage Profile button.
  • Under the Gamer Profile heading, choose "Family Settings".
  • It will now ask to sign in as the "Parent" account.
  • After signing in, you can change the Parental Control limitations.
  • When done, click the save button at the bottom of the page.
Thanks.

Don't have permission??

ok dont worry, this is an easy fix. some xbox's come with parental controlls already set. go to your xbox 360's dashboard and go to the very last tab and go to parental controlls and just set all of the controlls to the lightest settings and it SHOULD let you play on xbox live unless you have MULTIPLE PROFILES with parental controls already on.

Does xbox have a parental controls?

Violence, sexuality, and all-around bad behavior abound in many Xbox games. That can be fun for adults but scary for children. Here's how to activate built-in parental control features. Turn on the Xbox console without a disc in the disc tray. From the dashboard display, choose Settings > Parental Controls. Select Pass Code and press buttons on the controller in any sequence. Remember what buttons you pressed and the order in which you pressed them. Select Games and choose the maximum rating level you want to allow. Xbox will also allow you to set maximum rating levels for DVD movies.
