Solution:
1. Try to determine whether the catridge is at fault. How so? Switch the Magenta with the Cyan catridge. Press OK.
2. If system indicates that the Magenta is not installed, you will know that the Cyan that you put there is at fault.
3. Touch the 9 mm. hole where you can see the sponge. Does the Cyan color transfer to your finger? If not, the catridge is empty or dried up. Replace or refill.
4. If the ink is normal, then use some toilet tissue to wipe the gold contact points clean. If this fails to solve your problem, take it to your dealer and ask for a replacement (if it fails to work in their machine).
5. If this fails, then the problem is within your HP 6500. You need a technician.
