Re: toshiba 27ax61 television chassis tma509b power led...

I am working on one with the same symptoms after doing a lot of checking.I connected it to an isolation transformer and stepped the voltage down and noticed a ticking sound coming from the flyback. You may have the same problem. The bad thing is i can't find that flyback as it is no longer available.Sounds like they may have had issues with the flybacks on these models.

TV was working fine. Now it does not start. It makes a clicking sound as if its trying to start. It did this one day and after a few minutes it started. Next day same problem except it failed to start just made the clicking sound. Also it does not shut off to stop the clicking unless you pull the plug.

DEAD NO POWER LED FLASHES 4 TIMES NO RELAY CLICK

4 flashes usually indicates trouble in the vertical circuits. Replace the Vertical output IC and the bypass 220mf Cap. to insure reliability. I don`t know about not hearing the relay click, you may have just blown the power fuse or also may have to troubleshoot the the power supply. ------ Eagle2

Relay clicks, but No sound, No picture.

Hello, just try this first.

Unplugged the unit the power outlet for about 60 sec. Then power it on again. If you have surge strip along the line. You should directly switch in on power outlet only. If this doesn't help.

As the relay is working you have power in standby mode. Check its supply voltages if its ok. Secondly you can check the the B+ supply it is in DC, If this is a crt type tv, check its horizontal output transistor, Check its flyback for short circuit. Capacitor near to it rated almost 800V, and deflection coil.

Just for input, hope it helps

Toshiba TV32C50, chassis TAC9307, no start, but relay 'clicks'. No obvious electrolytic capacitor failure but power supply C801 (470 mfd, 200 V) replaced, no change.

Relay picking usually means the low voltage circuit is OK. You have a High voltage problem. Try changing the Horiz Out Transistor.

Toshiba 36HF71 has sound but no picture

Same problem with mine. Relays click, sound, no picture and a flashing power LED. I finally found a schematic online. I went through the high voltage circuits and found the power transistor 2SC5570 was shorted out. There is also a pico fuse in that area but my was not open. I replaced the transistor and prayed the flyback transformer was not shorted. It wasn't, I'm watching my old 36" right now. Not a bad fix (17.00) bucks. Wonder what a service tech would have charged ;)

Jvc tv av-32d502 timer light is flashing will not turn on

Hello, I am a tv tech. I worked on a JVC AV-32D502 today. Problem: led flashes / no power or picture at all. Same as trobertson52's set. The microprocessor is bad in my machine. trobertson52, if your sets' relay does not click when the power button is depressed you most likely have the same problem or the standby power circuit is at fault. That circuit supplies +5 volts to the micro.

Edtal you have a different problem with your machine. Your machine is going into shutdown. A number of circuits could cause this and would need to be looked at by a technician to determine exactly which circuit is at fault. High voltage transformer (HOT) \ Vertical Circuit \ Power supply are the most likely causes.

TV Sony KV-29F1E turn-on failure, red standby LED flashes (starts after 10-20 attempts)

When the set ends up flashing the LED, it should be a repeatable count. Can you please report that count here? Also, since the set eventually works, I'd suspect a bad connection or a part that has changed value over time. The blink code will help to narrow down the offending circuit.
