If you don't know these passwords, then I don't think there is any way to unlock it. But reformatting your hard drive and reinstalling an operating system will fix this, and it will allow you to reset your own passwords. Hope this helps. If you don't wish to do it this way, then contact your computer's manufacturer and sk them for help; or you can also google the problem that you are having, and see if any solutions come up. Thanks

I forgot the supervisor password and I could not access my computer. I tried to enter bios set up but I could not. So how can I access my computer by removing supervisor password?

I guess the only way to get access would be activating Safe Mode from the Bios Mode.
I think it's holding F4, if not F7 from the start of Windows.
It shall then give you a selection of options.
Choose Safe Mode & hope for the best :)

But then once logged in I am not quite sure if you'd be able to change the supervisor password from Safe Mode.

If you have another account on your laptop that has administrator rights, log in into that account and change the password for your account (click on switch account to log in). If you have an administrator account (even if you don't try putting in Administrator and leave password field blank) try using that account to reset the password, otherwise try one of the following:
- see this for XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321305
- or this for Vista/Win7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/What-to-do-if-you-forget-your-Windows-password
- or if anything else didn't work you can use thrid party software from Hiren's Boot CD http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/Hirens.BootCD.12.0.zip

Locked out of bios on my Toshiba u205.

Synopsis: When a Supervisor password is set, access to the BIOS is restricted by default unless the Supervisor Password is entered at the "Password=" prompt when starting the notebook. However, should the User/Power-on Password NOT be set then no such prompt will appear, and access to the BIOS will not be possible.

Solution: To access the BIOS set-up routine in the above scenario it is necessary to start the notebook from cold (not from standby or hibernation) whilst holding down the "INS" key. This will force the "Password=" prompt to appear. After entering the Supervisor Password a small menu will be displayed, and one option on this menu is to access the BIOS set-up ro

Supervisor password

A Supervisor password protects the system information stored in the BIOS. The user must enter the Supervisor password in order to get access to the ThinkPad BIOS Setup Utility in order to change the system configuration. If the Supervisor password is forgotten there is no way to reset it to enter the BIOS configuration. Setting a Supervisor password automatically sets the master Hard drive password. The following is the icon that comes up in the upper left corner if a Supervisor password is set:
A forgotten Supervisor password will prevent access to the ThinkPad BIOS setup utility. To regain access, the system will need to be serviced to have the system board and hard drive replaced. Proof of purchase is required, and this repair is not covered under the warranty.

3. And for the password...here you go....

Using Passwords
Using passwords helps prevent your computer from being used by others.
Once you set a password and enable it, a prompt appears on the screen each time you power on the computer. Enter your password at the prompt. You cannot use the computer unless you type the correct password.
Make sure that only authorized individuals access your computer.
Establishing different kinds of passwords requires that other possible users know the proper passwords in order to access your computer or your data.
As many as three passwords might be needed for your computer: the Supervisor password, the User Password, and the hard-disk drive (HDD) password. When the Supervisor password is set, only the Supervisor password entitles you full control of the computer.
• User password
If a user password is set and Password on boot is enabled, a password prompt appears when you turn on the computer. Unauthorized users cannot get access to configuration data.
You can also use the user password to enter the BIOS Setup Utility, but once the Supervisor password is set only a part of the options can be set.
• Supervisor password
With a Supervisor password, you can get full control of the computer. It also can be used as a power-on password, the same as the User password. Also, when you enter the BIOS Setup Utility with a Supervisor password, you are entitled to set all of the options.
• Hard disk (HDD) passwords
Once an HDD password is set, you need to enter it to get access to the hard disk. You can set the HDD password through either the User Only selection or the User + Master selection in the BIOS Setup Utility.
Note: If you set passwords through the BIOS Setup Utility and you put your computer into sleep mode by pressing Fn + F1, the following describes the behavior of the computer when you bring it out of sleep mode:
• You are prompted to type the Windows log-on password rather
than the User password to resume operation.
• If an HDD password is assigned to any hard disk drive, the hard
disk drive is unlocked automatically when you resume operation.
To set a User Password:
1. Turn on your computer. Press F2, while the initial screen is displayed.
The BIOS Setup Utility screen opens.
2. Select Security, using the cursor directional keys.
3. Select Set User Password, and press the Enter key. The Set User Password window opens.
4. Choose your user password, which can be from one to eight
alphanumeric characters in any combination. Type it in the Enter New Password field.
5. Press the Enter key once to move to the Confirm New Password field. Retype the password you just entered to verify it.
6. Commit your password to memory, and press the Enter key.
7. Press F10 to exit.
8. Select Yes in the Setup Confirmation window.
Changing or Removing the User Password
To change the password, do the following:
1. In the Enter Current Password field, type your current password.
2. In the Enter New Password field, type a new password; then retype it to verify.
To remove the password, do the following:
1. In the Enter Current Password field, type your current password.
2. Leave the Enter New Password field blank, and then press the Enter key twice.
Note: Make sure the Password on boot is set to Enabled if you need the password protection at power on.
To set a Supervisor Password:
Only a system administrator will be able to perform this procedure.
1. Turn on your computer. Press F2, while the initial screen is displayed.
The BIOS Setup Utility screen opens.
2. Select Security using the cursor directional keys.
3. Select Set Supervisor Password, and press the Enter key. The Set Supervisor Password window opens.
4. Choose your supervisor password; it can be from one to eight
alphanumeric characters in any combination. Type it in the Enter New Password field.
5. Press the Enter key to move to the Confirm New Password field.
Retype the password you just entered to verify it.
6. Commit your password to memory, and press the Enter key.
Attention: You might want to note your password and keep it in a
safe place. If you forget your supervisor password,
Lenovo can not reset your password. You must take your
computer to a Lenovo reseller or a Lenovo marketing
representative to solve this problem. Proof of purchase is
required, and a fee will be charged for parts and service.
7. Press F10 to exit.
8. Select Yes in the Setup Confirmation window.
The next time you open the BIOS Setup Utility program, you will be prompted to type your password to proceed.
Changing or Removing the Supervisor Password
To change the password, do the following:
1. In the Enter Current Password field, type the current supervisor
password.
2. In the Enter New Password field, type the new supervisor password; then retype it to verify.
To remove the password, do the following:
1. In the Enter Current Password field, type the current supervisor
password.
2. Leave the Enter New Password field blank, and then press the Enter key twice.
Hard Disk Passwords
Two types of the hard disk passwords help protect the information stored on the hard disk:
• Hard disk user password
• Hard disk master password, which requires a hard disk user password If User only is selected and a hard disk user password has been set, but no hard disk master password has been set, the user must enter the hard disk user password in order to gain access to files and applications on the hard disk.
If User + Master is selected you need to set a master password and a user password both as the Hard Disk Password. Either of the two passwords can be used to get access to the Hard disk. Any change or removal to the master password deletes the user password.
To set a hard disk password:
Print these instructions.
1. Turn on your computer. Press F2, while the initial screen is displayed.
The BIOS Setup Utility screen opens.
2. Select Security, using the cursor directional keys.
3. Select Built-in HDD1 Password Select, and press the Enter key. A window for selecting User Only or User + Master opens.
I will send the rest in the comment section..hope this helps in some way...the Fang.

Mine is an ongoing issue, for almost 6 weeks now. I cannot access my Pinterest account. I get no results when I sign on to Pinterest, or when I push the Pinterest button. The first sign of trouble was when I got a message that something had run out or stopped and at that point I was told to paste something to my browser. This was Greek to me and thus began my many desperate pleas for help. At 70 years old, I am unable to follow any instructions. The second thing I was told was to deactivate my account and then reinactivate it. I then read that to deactivate would lose all my boards and pins, so then I was and still am, afraid to do anything! I adore Pinterest. I am a shut in, physically challenged and Pinterest adds so much joy to my daily life. My last email was from a woman, at Corp., and she listed several suggestions...however, I did not understand them, plus, if I exited the email to do what she instructed, I had to hope I could still have the email to go back to, and I immediately did the unthinkable...I lost the email entirely. I am so fed up with myself at this point, I had a computer repair man come to the house to work on my iPad and my laptop, but he said he knew nothing about Pinterest and could not help me at all. I have contacted you for help so many times on this, it is embarrassing and I am sure I have made a nuisance of myself. The initial email, notifying me that something was wrong with my account, is when all the trouble began. I have enjoyed Pinterest for several years, and have no idea what the initial email was talking about. That is when I was told to deactivate and then deactivate my account, and also told to paste something to my browser. It sounds so simple, but I am at a total loss. Again, I am terrified of losing my boards and 57,000.00 pins. Can someone at Corp. try again to help me? Also, is there any chance that they could call me and instruct me over the phone? I am desperate to save my boards/pins.Could someone please try one more time to help me? Carol Thompson Hollyhockheaven 623 910 9386
