Take the cover off of the back of the tv and look at the big board going to the pitcure tube board thats the one .It should have part number on the board.if you dont see it ,take the board off and look on the back of it.

Likely a bad power supply. If it uses the same PS as the L6 it's part # is adp-60cf. The PS is used in numerous vizio models including the p42. Check the output plug on the PS, pins 1 & 2 should be 16V, and 3 & 4 are ground. There is also a slo-blow fuse soldered onto the board very close to the AC in plug.
This is an ongoing issue with the Vizio 42" series. The SMPS power supply has been a problem in all the Vizio models since day 1. We repair these sets and I do not recommend them at all, they are very unreliable. The SMPS power unit is board replacement only at this time and very expensive.
