You can change the Region Code of you DVD player but be aware that you have a limited number of changes, then the DVD player will be stuck to a certain region.
Search in the Options menu and change the region code to one printed on the french dvd case. To watch DVDs from your region again you have to change the region once more. Watch for changes left.
if your useing vista press the start button go into control panel select classic view ,then select device manager, find your dvd player click on it select dvd region pick the one you want but you can only change it a limited number of times
You can only change the region code 4 times and then it locks onto that region. There are firmware upgrades for various model DVDs on the Internet that makes the DVD drive region free, but if you make a mistake in upgrading the firmware or installing the wrong firmware version then the DVD drive is turned into a piece of junk. The best way to solve your problem is to install software that defeats the region code so you can play DVDs from any region. I use a region free program fronm DVD Idle, it is not very expensive and there are other similar programs on the Internet. Use Google to search for them. Have a look at www.dvdidle.com
when u insert disc log out of dvd player,,, go to mac hd and click on the disc u inserted,,,click n drag the video_ts folder on to desktop wait for import,,,,once done take out the disc,,,now click n drag the video_ts folder onto the dvd player icon...
You can change the region code for your DVD player but not more than 4 times.
There are firnware updates to change DVDs to region free, if you are not carefull you can screw up your DVD drive.
Suggest you install a program to allow you to play any DVDs regardless of which region the DVDs were created for.
