Hello seaworld,
I believe your right, think your going to need a new power supply. 430 watts is a little low, but should be able to run this board smoothly even with dual video cards. If you do decide on purchasing a new power supply I would go with a 600 watt 20+4 pin, you might think its over kill but power supplies running at peak output over a long period of time shorten their lifespan. Plus its always good to have room to expand.
Good luck

Hi William,

If your problem is a continuous green blinking led light and will not turn on, this is an indication that the DM of your unit try but hasn't booted up and stuck to this fault.
If you have checked fine the fuses on the DM power supply board, you have to check/replaced also the electrolytic capacitors on that board.

11_1_2011_12_36_04_am.jpg

www.tvrepairkits.com has a repair kit for your unit (DM power supply board) that includes these parts.

If you've already replaced the capacitors on that board but still the symptoms still persist, I would advice you to check/replaced the capacitors on the power supply board feeding the DM power supply board. Check also the pico fuses and bad solder joints (cracked, cold, dried solder). Resolder the joints that look suspicious.
Yes, your model has no complete schematic diagram downloadable online. I have a copy of the repair manual that includes the schematic but not a complete one. The power supply's schematic shows only the major parts and the output voltages of the board. Same as on the DM's power supply.
Email me at [email protected], I will send you the copy of the repair manual.

Hi again.... u just wrote me an answer for my power supply surges problems "Hi i just bought an asus m4a88td-m i instaled it with a amd phenom II x4, 500 watts corsair power supply, ati radeon hd...

Ive been playing around with pcs for 20 years. Im not a professional in the field, BUT.. Just booting up, a 250 watt will do it. Now, if you are playing a power hungry game you would expect it to fail then. I think maybe the PSU you have has a problem. So, you should return it and probably upgrade while you are at it. So, same answer.. NEW PSU. And... You do not want to run a system underpowered for any extended time. You can stress any number of components.

Power button won't start

It is possible that your power supply unit went out and will need to be replaced. Also the power button itself may have gone bad as well. It is either one or the other. Power Supply Units are located inside the box of your computer
jcrowder0027_2.jpg
It may be a good idea to take this in to a local shop to have this done if you have never done this before. Power button switches look like this.
jcrowder0027_3.jpg
Depending on your computer the power supply unit and power switch may be different as well. If you know what you are doing you can replace these pretty easily the degree of difficulty is about a 3 on a scale of 10 so not that hard all you have to do is plug in everything that came out and remember where the wires go. Mark them so that you will not forget I use a b c d on and on for each part or wire.
You can obtain a new power supply unit pretty cheap. Just take the old with you when you go to buy one. If you go online to buy one just make sure that you have the same one match the case numbers and you should be fine. Most power supply units are ATX it will tell you on the old one. I would start there and change this out. Thanks for using FixYa! please vote for me. John

Note: I'm answering your post with the assumption that you plan on using this power supply with a computer. If this is not your intention, please disregard my solution attempt.

You likely already know this, but if you are powering a computer you're going to need a power supply with more wattage. I would recommend nothing less than a 350 watt power supply.

Follow this link to calculate how much power you need to run your computer: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

If you're not ready to give up on your 270 watt power supply, then remove all PCI/PCI-E devices, USB ports, extra fans, non-boot hard drives, extra DVD/CD drives etc. one at a time until the computer powers up. Anything you can do to reduce the load on the power supply will help.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.

Just stopped working! No power. Have already checked via other electric outlets.

Fuse has likely failed. Hoever the power supply must be tested.
The repair is going to be almost as much as a new unit with warranty.

My computer won't boot up or something; no power led lit.

Seems to me your Ram module connector is dirty. Clean its edge connector with a soft eraser. Or if it can, transfer it to the next ram bank. Or your memory module is already dead.
