If you have not canceled the handset registration at the previous base unit (p. 104), the handset number still remains on that base unit memory. To erase the handset number from the previous base unit, see the base unit Operating Instructions. For KX-TG2740S base unit: (1) press (FUNCTION), (2) press (MUTE), (3) enter 335#, and (4) enter that handset number ((1) to (8))

See this link, this is pg 105 and104 of the manual on how to re-register the handset to the base.

It could be the issue with the base uni itself. Let all three be off for good 3-4 hours and than plug in the base unit in another power outlet.

No Link to Base - - Walk closer to base and try again --

You should try resetting both the base and handset but removing their power supply/batteries and then reconnecting their power supply/batteries. You can also check and see if there is a registration option on the handset that will re-link it with the base. Could just be broken though!

I have the below-mentioned problem with my Panasonic Cordless model KX-TG3531BX No link to base. Move closer to base, try again. Please contact me on 9879590311 or email me at ritu_vpatel@yahoo.com

place all handsets in the base unit for about 1 minute each. This links the handsets to the base. Sometimes the handsets lose their link to the base unit. If this doesn't work try to call Panasonic tech support for further information, the phones could be defective as well.

Our Panasonic system shows "No link to base walk closer" for any of the handsets even when 2 inches from the base. Seems the base has stopped communicating.

Often times when this happens try putting the phone back in the base unplug from the wall for about 30 seconds plug back in wait about a minute then try again. I have seen where you may need to also try unplugging the battery from the phone for a minute put it back in and place in the base. Its a communication problem with the phone to base connections and resetting the power often clears this up.
Hope this helps!

I recommend that you unplug the other unit and then register each phone separetly. While trying to register one phone make sure the other is un plugged.

TOO FAR FROM BASE

Hi! This may cure your problem!
Re-registering the handset
If “No link to base. Move closer
to base, try again.
” is displayed
even when the handset is near the base
unit, you may need to re-register the
handset to the base unit.
Important:
LMake sure the base unit is not being
used.
LHave the handset and base unit near
each other when re-registering the
handset.
LKX-TG5422 and KX-TG5423 only:
Confirm the extension number of the
handset which has lost its link to the
base by placing the handset on the base
unit or charger.
If you accidentally assign another
handset’s extension number to it, the
other extension will stop functioning.
1 Handset:
Press {MENU}.
2 Scroll to “Initial setting” by
pressing {V} or {^}, then press {>}.
3 Scroll to “Registration” by pressing
{V} or {^}, then press {>}.
4 KX-TG5421 base unit:
Press and hold {HANDSET
LOCATOR
} until the CHARGE
indicator flashes.
KX-TG5422 base unit:
Press and hold the handset locator
button that corresponds to the handset
you want to re-register ({HANDSET
LOCATOR
1} or {HANDSET
LOCATOR
2}) until the CHARGE
indicator flashes.

Below is a link that will take you to the instruction manual for your phone.

No link to base message

Possible other frequencies in a similar range as the 2.4GHz phones are interfering such as interference from other electrical appliances or Uverse TV. Move the handset and the base unit away from any other electrical appliances and try again. Make sure the base antennas are fully extended.

press function button on handset, scroll to initial setting, select by pressing right arrow, scroll to registration, select, select hs registration, follow directions on handset display, pressing mute on "new" base station, and ok on handset(plugged in). If you like, you can unregister with the "old" base unit first.
