I have replaced several lamps for my 50" panosonic lcd. i never had a problem and always used the panosonic replacement lamp. This time I ordered the phillips replacement lamps instead. New lamp not working. Based from past experiences I still think the lamp is the problem but I dont know for sure.

If you place order for Panasonic lamp again this time, I think you would not face this problem as in past you had no problem.

If you have not replaced the lamp in this television at any time, it is probably in need of replacement. Lamp # is TY-LA1000. I buy lamps on e-bay from a company called niosales, excellent quality and free shipping. There are also three fans in your television, if the small fan near the DMD module fails the tv will not start ofr stay on. I really believe the lamp is your trouble though.

The lamp light is blinking once every 5 seconds. The manual says that " Lamp will not light or light is abnormal"

Panasonic PT50LC13 lamp indicator blinks to tell you the lamp is faulty.

You need to replace the bulb or TY-LA1000 lamp assembly. This link displays all Panasonic TV Lamps and TV Bulbs. This page shows Panasonic lamp location and How to Replace TYLA1000 bulb. TY-LA1000 Bulb Replacement requires the use of a long Philips Screwdriver to reach screws within the lamp cage.

Unplug AC power before removing the lamp and re-install all doors, etc, correctly before starting the TV. Vacuum any visible dust or lint from air vents and lamp area. Do not used forced air to blow out dust, big problems may result.

The user's manual has a description of what the Blinking LED indicators mean.

I need to find cheaper bulbs/lamps, for Panasonic TY-La 1001

All of the DLP lamps made by Philips as well as by others( "OSRAM", etc).
So I am more than sure that Philips will work just fine. The problem however is that cheaper lamps got much shorter lifespan (due the fact that they was rejected by initial quality control and sent to "Grey market").
So - because free cheese exist only in mouse trap - cheapest way to watch your TV is to spend more money for expensive ORIGINAL long-lasting lamp. Sounds like paradox, isn't it?
Cheaper substitute you will find - more expensive it's going to be on the long run. Especially when you will be forced to replace them every 6-9 months.
Original lamp should last at least 2-3 years for average use.
Good luck!

TV shut off and cannot turn back on

If your tv is around 2-4 yrs or used 6000-8000 hrs, never replaced the lamp before it could be time to replace it.The other most common failure is the board that powers the lamp, which is called the ballast. When its bad it will make a clicking sound or like wanting to turn on.The part # for your lamp is TYLA1000 you can find it here: Good luck and God bless you!

I am about to replace a DLP lamp. How do I reset the lamp time on a Panasonic PT-50DL54J, using a TY-2004 lamp?

This all probably comes a couple years too late, but when you install a new lamp, you’ll want to reset the hours on the counter your television has. Doing this will allow you to avoid getting any messages about the lamp needing to be replaced despite you having a new lamp inside your set.
If you need to get into the service menu, you can do so by following these directions:
With power on, hold down VOL minus button on projection display and hold down the PIP or SPLIT button (try both) on the remote simultaneously for more than 5 seconds.

Panasonic PT-50LC13 Television Lamp Replacement

not really, just be careful about getting finger prints on the lamp as the oils from your fingers will shorten the lifespan of the lamp.
