Thermal fuse for the motor is out. It's on inside on the back wall. look for the two blue wires connecting to it.

You can find a parts breakdown along with drawings for your dryer at this website http://www.pcappliancerepair.com/model-display.php.. I suggest you check the door switch since that interlocks the entire system.. You should be able to bypass it to see if that is keeping the dryer from starting.. Hope this helps..

Error code of three beeps on a whirlpool dryer model 68972981

Hi troy crawford,

Well if it beeps for 3 times and then shut off when you press start it means that the dryer thinks that dryer door is open. You will have to replace your door switch to fix the problem. or you can also try closing the door normally, then firmly press on the top edge of the door. You will hear the final latch grab, then you press and hold the start button. many time it will works...

Good Luck

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

I turned on the dryer, shut the door, it briefly started then died. already checked the fuse box. please advise...

Hi the chances are the switch needs replacing the switch im going on about is the switch on the door, have you tried pushing the door shut further and then see if it works, if it dont and the fuse in the plug is ok then this switch will need replacing and then it should be working again.

it might be worth changing the fuse just to make sure its not that make sure you change it with one of the same type else the fuse will blow

try pushing the door shut further and you may find it will come back on.

let me know how you get on ok

LER 5620KQO won't start. Any ideas?

I would think that you either have a bad thermal fuse, Thermal cut off or bad door switch. Most likely a bad thermal cut off.

I HAVE A DRYER THAT WAS WORKING FINE, THEN TURNED OFF. I PUSHED THE BUTTON AND IT WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON. NEXT MORNING TRIED AGAIN AND IT TURNED ON FOR 5 MINUTES THEN SHUT OFF. WON'T TURN BACK ON. I THINK...

Would first check the door switch. This can be done by finding door switch, with door open hold in switch and jiggle around while pushing the start switch. If it tries to start, replace the switch.

Dryer won't start

it is one of 2 things, the door switch is bad or the heater box fuse is bad,you can remove the back panel and you will see the little fuse on the top of the heater box,if you have a meter you can check the fuse and the door switch on the ohms setting, ler me know-mike

Whirlpool dryer model LEQ8800JQ won't start when push start butto

I posted today (Jan 2, 2009) that I had same problem. Handyman tested for blown thermal fuse, etc and everything was fine. He said I have to replace the timer switch .. well guess what - I fidgeted with the start button (on/off) hard a few times while simultaneously pressing & releasing door switch and it did the trick. In my case the problem was most likely with the start button. Dryer is working fine now!
